It was so important to my grandmother that raised me in her old age, to buy me a Beleek tea set for a wedding gift when I was just a child as a future wedding gift from her home. I treasure it.

This is what I call a proper TV show.. thank you for putting the time in to share it. I think its a real shame, infact a crime that traditional ways of life and culture are being lost for ever due to modern fast paced trends, fashions and waste based consumerism that we live under today. All the years of learning and passing down the skillful handy work.. just flushed down the drain and forgotten. If there was ever a Nuclear war or a similar catastrophe, all the skills that are shown in this Hands TV series would be a godsend to survivors.. But not many folk wold be able to adapt to the traditional skills which might cause blisters and backace.. So until that time comes, we will carry on allowing machines robots and artificial intelligence do all the work to make our lives easier.. and lead us into a future which is less wholesome, happy and without a sense of pride and acheivement that these folk must have felt while they lived their simple lives.

margaret you are right if you showed a person today how to do this they'd be alot better off that somebody who needs a robot to do their work for them. just laziness tbh from people these people knew hard work and hard play not some crappy expletive ridden drug referencing rap song and drinking to you pass out and taking drugs too but listening to traditional irish music and having several drinks only before you headed home to the kids and got to bed early and i'm only 30 and thats the sort of ireland i strive for and wish for old ireland

@@johnj.anthonymcquade6876 Well said John.. Its good to know that the younger generation are not all sheep who follow the immoral ways of the modern world. The world has gone bad, drugs violence, pedophiles, terrorism, corrupt politicians etc.. all make the world an unruly place to live.. and to top it off, the way folk have turned idle due to technology has just made us seem redundant and useless now..

Today's world is unnatural. Just as all our structures will be beaten away by the ages, so too will our unnatural modern way of living. Man is man, and there is nothing in the world that can change that. Things will return to the way they were 1000 years ago.

And blast loud music whilst they talk, driving us totally crazy!! I choose a lovely video about crafts or arts and then I think I got the wrong video as this horrid music starts playing and it won't go away!
I do appreciate here when this chap with a pleasant voice tells us what we need to know. I know there's some music but at least it's appropriate and it's not drowning this man's voice.
I so wish there was a button in the settings I could just click and eliminate all music in the videos I'm watching. ( I'd keep the beautiful music here, though )

On the normal day they'd protect their home clothing as much as possible, long aprons and sleeve protectors were worn to cover even old pair of trousers and a worn out wooly . ☺️

    Beannacht / Blessing
    On the day when
    the weight deadens
    on your shoulders
    and you stumble,
    may the clay dance
    to balance you.
    And when your eyes
    freeze behind
    the grey window
    and the ghost of loss
    gets into you,
    may a flock of colours,
    indigo, red, green
    and azure blue,
    come to awaken in you
    a meadow of delight.
    When the canvas frays
    in the currach of thought
    and a stain of ocean
    blackens beneath you,
may there come across the waters
    a path of yellow moonlight
    to bring you safely home.
May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
may the clarity of light be yours,
may the fluency of the ocean be yours,
may the protection of the ancestors be yours.
    And so may a slow
    wind work these words
    of love around you,
    an invisible cloak
    to mind your life.
