      A lot has to do with the music and Broll I guess. Thanks for commenting :)

    Always an inspiration, keep it up! Love the Pokemon analogy.

    Nice challenge and great images. I shoot usually at f/4 with the 55mm on my A7IV, gives similar depth of field as f/5.6 on the 85mm. It's a nice aperture for capturing the world around you.

    Lovely shots. 85 isn’t easy, but you made it work. High compression street photos aren’t my thing, but for sure I enjoyed the video and many of your photos. Music choice was also supreme, as usual 👌

    Love your analogy using Pokemon! Was totally hoping you'd talk about shiny Pokemon and you did! I'll definitely think about photography in this way from now! So exciting!

      Haha glad that at least someone got the analogy. Thanks for commenting :)

    Interesting that the same principal of limitation applies to other areas of creativity. For example, rhyming poetry. When the poet limits himself so that he must adhere to a rhyme scheme while STILL conveying the message he wants to tell us, that’s so much more creative and impressive than just writing without rhyme.

    yes the 85mm no doubt makes things a little easier with the compression.. but some of these shots were really timeless nonetheless.. I am often surprised by what you choose to shoot expecting it to be something completely different.. like little pockets of light, someones hands, or the little red electric boxes lol.. its like a guessing game for me.

    5.6 is indeed more challenging, but it doesnt mean its bettter. it is however a good way to train your eye.

      No fstop is better than another we agree on that but the goal was train the eye as you said. Thanks for commenting :)

    Which files edit "better?" Ricoh or xe4 ? Great video too. I only shoot 5.6 unless moving into night.

      @adriensanguinetti  Год назад +1

      Thanks! I would say the Ricoh files edit better in a sense that you can bring them anywhere. Xe4 ones are less flexible but they definitely benefit from the mighty Fuji color science

    Ahh yes, the 85, let's go! Funny enough I have been limiting myself to f4 and above lol

    Thank you so much for your videos. Can I ask you what kind of work you do in Japan? I’m from Switzerland too and I’m just curious about your profession…
