FIRST TIME REACTION - Patti Smith - "People Have the Power" with Tim Sommer
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 сен 2024
- Our Executive Producer, Michael Simon, was very excited we did our first Patti Smith reaction with our good friend, Tim Sommer, who brings us the prolific and poetic anthem, “People Have the Power”. Taylor Swift references Patti in the song, “The Tortured Poets Department”, and Tim dives deeply into why Patti is brilliant both as a poet and a musician. Tim Sommer is no stranger to music with a strong message behind it, and in fact his old band, Hugo Largo, is re-releasing their music 40 years later. Please be sure to take a listen and visit the links below.

We launched Rob Squad and The Creators as its own channel because that is what our RSR family wants. We also have been honored to work with the amazing Production Company, F Street Productions, led by Michael Simon and Scott Kushner. Together with F Street, Amber and I have had the honor to react to many iconic songs from the original writers, singers, and producers. The other cool thing is these artists share the behind the scenes of the songs, and as well as other stories during our discussions.
This channel could have never happened without your views and constant support, so from the bottom of Amber’s and my heart, thank you very much! We need people to subscribe to keep this channel going.
We always love feedback so feel free to send us anything at P.O Box 6501 Moore, Ok 73153. robsquadreactions@gmail.com

A must watch is Patti Smith doing her version of Gloria on the German music show Rockpalast 1979
Patti is so creative. The drummer is amazing too.
I enjoyed this, thank you. Patti Smith * 💘* my favourite artist of all times. She's also outspoken for justice, human rights and peace - often mentioning PaIestine in her Instagram stories ❤
I recommend her books, e.g. her autobiography about the 1960-s in NYC and her then (boy)friend Robert Mapplethorpe.
so glad i started following this channel of yours. i have been with you since jay did a solo reaction of blackbird.
I love Patti, saw her live a handful of times. My favorite was when she opened for Neil Young in Philly. Just an amazing and beloved artist. Btw, part of her roots are in South Jersey where I live. 🥰
This was so interesting and fun, she’s singing from the soul !
You guys are killing it with this channel! I'm trying to keep up. 🤣
Thank you so much Tim for revealing to them your knowledgeable insight of our musical era. Rob and Amber have come so very far with the help from people who lived then. Patti Smith, really?!? I'm impressed, keep bringing the 🔥🔥🔥! ☮️ ❤️ 🎶 🎸 🎶
Thanks for this. Patti Smith is my favorite artist and I have seen her several times in concert. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 The Scottish singer-songwriter, KT Tunstall wrote a song about Patti Smith titled "Suddenly I See." Maybe give it a listen on Female Friday.
This performance is from Patti's induction in tge Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Amazing. If you can find it she sang this with just guitar back up to people wIting in line to vote for the 2020 election.
The stories continue to reel me in. How about a TV show with Mr. Sommer or at a minimum a longer version here. 😀 So interesting. Many thanks!!
When there are all-star "Cause" shows, there are really one 3 songs to choose from for the big finale -- Dylan's Chimes Of Freedom, Marley's Get Up Stand Up or this.
It's so refreshing to see a woman performing onstage with ZERO makeup. No lipstick, no eyeliner, no nothing. No shade to wearers of makeup, it is a social expectation in Western society. Nevertheless, it only deepens my respect for Patti.
I agree about Patti Smith being a genius. She is incredible!
Loving these conversations, I feel like Tim is an old buddy that it’s always fun to swap stories together. Patti Smith is far more iconic than successful, which is a total condemnation of the music “industry”. ✌️
I LOVE this song! My friend bought the album when it came out and wore it out lol
dancin barefoot is my favourite patti smith song
Rob and Amber, you've reacted to Patti Smith before: "Because the Night" and "Gloria". I recommend listening to Patti singing Bob Dylan's "A Hard Rains A-Gonna Fall" at Dylan's Nobel Prize Ceremony.
J/A, when you get back to Patti, check out her "Frederick". Many artists/bands produce excellent music, but just don't have much success with charting songs. A variety of reasons for that, which I'm sure Tim is familiar with.
I've seen Patti... she's a force.
