Looks like a straight forward concrete polishing system. Love the fact that it is dustless! Nice work! That polished concrete floor would look great in my basement!
Thank you. Yes, it is nice to have polished concrete in a basement. Dustless grinding and sanding, when attached to appropriate HEPA vacuum system, is just wonderful.
Do you recommend a particular grinding pattern to use the machine? I have seen cases where some areas are over grinded with a single pass of the machine, because of the position of the tools itself.
Our customers use the EDGE on 8.5 to 9.0 hard floors. On floors this hard, we recommend our Gold Bond Tooling with special diamonds that are specifically designed for these types of floors. After any coatings are removed, we recommend using our Mist & Go System for the 30/40 & 70/80 Grit metal bond stage. Pump up sprayer with medium mist. Enough to wet the floor without leaving water on the surface. We do the same at the 100 Grit Achromic stage prior to densifying.
What would be an average amount of time to do a 2 car garage? it seems like a lot of steps. Can it be done in one day? Trying to see the cost advantage versus doing epoxy.
Hello John, I would give yourself 2-4 days depending on final level of desired sheen. If you already have a nice looking floor, then it will go faster. If you floor has seen a better day, then you will need to work it more with the machine! Good luck with your project!
Can I use this machine prior to epoxy? I know it’s designed for polishing but can I also use it to scratch the concrete surface to give the epoxy a good surface to grab into?
Absolutely, it is an excellent machine for delivering a CSP 3 profile (concrete surface profile) which epoxy manufacturers require so that their product does not fail.
Great job on making a grinder that gets so close to the wall I haven’t see one sense late 90 or early 2000s oh an If you did the patching differently you can get rid of a whole step and the floor will look better and your pads will last longer
Thanks Leandro for the feedback! The 69(considered high gloss) represents the gloss level of the floor. A gloss level meter is used to test the mechanical polish of a floor. Gloss Level Meters are used to validate that the floor has been mechanically polished vs just being sealed and "shinny".
@@WerkMasterConcreteStone Are these machines and products available in UK and ROI? What is the average cost of the floor if doing DIY instead of direct labour?
Hi Jimmy, it depends on a number of factors; 1. Is there anything on the concrete to be removed? ie. Epoxy, thinset, VCT or carpet glue, paint, stains, etc. 2. What is the hardness of the concrete? Soft, Medium or Hard? 3. What level of shine are you trying to achieve? Matt, semi-gloss or high gloss finish? 4. Are you planning to dye the floor? 5. Are there cracks in the floor? 6. What is the square footage of the floor to be polished? 7. Is it a residential or commercial place? 8. Are there multiple rooms, closets, kitchen area, bathroom? If you can clarify these points, we can then provide you with a price range for the work.
We polished a floor and did all this but the floor when you mop it at the end the dust won’t remove what is the cause of this? We been doing epoxy for a long time 10+years but polishing this floor is the first thing that we have had a problem with we tried ph neutral soap and it still doesn’t help
Yes ofc we been doing epoxy for 10+ years but this has never happened. We used densifier and sealer protector. We are pros but not pros pros and we need big time help from another person who’s educated in this
“60/80’s to 100 resins” Not 120 metals, or 50 hybrids, Mach or ceramic 100’s… That’s a bad call. That’s why homie polished the floor with the 100’s for a day in that little room and had to “drop down” to 100 resins again after applying densifier. What’s the head pressure on that little baby toy machine?
That is correct Russell! We have moved away from the older copper based transitions tools(hybrids) and use our Achromic resins! New technology that eliminates many steps while giving you excellent results! Our technology doesn't get stuck on head pressure. Speed and good quality bonds and industrial diamonds are what give us results!
I wish you'd do a time-lapse of an entire job. How do you know you've completed a step? Do you have to crawl around on your knees looking sideways at the floor? This seems far from idiot-proof, that one must be a sorta artist to do this.
Hello M.A. We did not want to make this process look to easy because transforming a worn out epoxy coated slab from zero to hero is hard work! Our systems can save you up to 40% in edging labour alone but sometimes bringing in the Pro's is a good idea if one is not up to the challenge.
polishing concrete regardless of what machine you use takes a really long time. this was one of the fastest jobs I've seen so far. they kept it short and sweet. I like that the machine's close edging saves you time from hand grinding!
Thanks for the heads up Ken. This is a DIY video and used at our training schools. Not sure what part you found to be a commercial, but would love to hear back. Reach us at support@werkmaster.com

Do you recommend a particular grinding pattern to use the machine? I have seen cases where some areas are over grinded with a single pass of the machine, because of the position of the tools itself.
Hi, in some situations you can use a sideways circular motion to avoid this problem on some floors. We call it a feathering motion.
Can yall do it on super hard concrete i always see all these videos on soft concrete
Can't help but notice, the comment section is full of replies, except for this question... This and whenever someone utters the question, "Price?".

What oscillating tool did you use and what head?
How long would this take to do a 1000 sq foot basement?
On clean concrete that is flat and smooth, going from 30 grit to 1500 would take about 2 days
How much is the messin
how do i grind and then get a matt finish? stop at the 100 grit then apply a sealer with a matt finish?
you can stop at 100 or 200 grit for matt finish.
