Austin and Todd. YEEEES! I was looking out for this one. Thumbs up was hit at the start. I know this one would be Epic. It didn't disappoint. I think the racechip tune was definitely worth it. Looking forward to the other upgrade coming. That Abarth looks like a fun little car. Thanks Guys.
Your boost doesn't show the effect of the racechip because the piggyback is altering the boost reading sent to the PCM. The boost gauge is not reporting actual boost, but what the PCM thinks the boost is. Since the piggyback has altered the signal to the PCM the gauge can't see the real boost level. I am surprised it is reading lower though, usually it reads identical before and after with a piggyback. It could be your PCM is attempting to de tune a bit by reducing boost. If that is happening then you may be on too aggressive a setting. Reset your PCM by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes and try the racechip at a lower setting to see what the boost does. I've had piggybacks in my Abarth and didn't see a lower boost reading. Can't say about the Racechip though as I had that on my 500T which has a lower factory boost than an Abarth. It may be that Racechip is sending a lowered reading to the PCM rather than the expected reading, but that's different than other piggybacks.
I had a racechip on a 500 Turbo. Definitely legit and costs less than many other piggybacks. If yall got any questions, join us on the Broken Fiat Club group over on Facebook.
How does the racechip do as far as the car being in regular mode vs sport mode? Being that it's a piggyback, can it make regular mode have a similar throttle curve as sport mode?
@@luisgouveiag665ttyfdaaqqcc3 it’s on all the time if it’s connected but they do give a plug you can use that will return to stock instantly but you need to pop the hood for this. The car is just as drivable in ‘normal’ situations but when you put your foot down you really get great pick up past 3300 rpm. The jump in performance is very noticeable.
I recently bought a 2013 abarth with a racechip rs already installed. It is currently set to 1 on the dial. Is there a recommendation you have for what number to use. I have yet to see if I can use the app.
@@PerformanceOnWheels yeah it’s pretty fun, I upgraded the diverted valve to a GFB DV + with a modern performance blow off plate. I get weird looks when people realize it’s a renegade lol. I raced my friend in his 15’ Abarth and beat him lol
I don't see how this is worth it if you guys are struggling to know when the chip is on or not. It claims to be around 40 hp wich represents a 25% increase of hp on this car so you should be able to notice it right away at any time.
Good point for sure. You have to be able to feel the entire rpm range for it to be apparent imo. When you are able to fully accelerate it is very apparent.
.....aw hell no..shoudve gotten a seletron chipbox if you went this route! you didnt listen to that comment! racechip and other piggybacks WILL detune overtime...seletron chipbox is the only piggyback that doesnt detune over time from my research. lol...sorry im being too much of an asshole there. lol i learned these things either the long way or the hard way hence my excitement. :P id never actually burst out like this in person..you know...internets.
Do you feel better about RACECHIP after watching this?
Got one in my Abarth, took a couple days to adjust but it is way faster. Stronger now in normal mode than Sport mode was without the piggyback.

We need some tracks to open for even more fun videos!!! Glad you liked it Alex

We will give that a shot.

No it does not still have to be in sport mode
i liked the unit so much when i got the RS model i had it two years and then got the upgraded GTS and i am VERY happy with it in my 500
I'm quite impressed with it as well
Split196 did you have it on all the time or you only used it when you wanted and then switched off.

Hallo, someone tried Racechip GTS with the Fiat 500 twinair turbo 0.9 105 cv? Feedback? Thanks

I had mine between 5 and 7 pretty much all the time
I adjusted my turbo different then factory specs and i get 12 psi of boost
I believe there is a break in period for the ECU to adjust.
There was when I first installed it after that it turns on and off just like that
@@PerformanceOnWheels yeah I have it on my Jeep Renegade with the 1.4 T. I break the tires loose in first gear when boost hits
That's awesome those renegades are fun

I had the same DV+ Great mod!
So makes it faster and makes it better on gas? Why haven’t I bought this already?
I have no idea you probably should
The mere FACT that you can't tell if it's on or off tells me Fck that useless dumbchip. but LOVE the vid!!!

Imagine buying an Abarth
There petty fun
You just convinced me not to buy racechip
I would suggest an actual tune
No

We got sponsored by racechip.
@@PerformanceOnWheels lol i realized once i actually watched the video :P well i hope its still a blast :D
I'm honestly very impressed so far.
If you have de tuning in the racechip, set it to a lower setting until it doesn't. The adjustability helps here.
