I have just upgraded to 566.45, havent tried it yet but I noticed the option in the custom install for a clean install and wondered if that did a cache clear at the same time. It would seem logical and would simplify the upgrade a lot. Thanks for the video mate.

Thank goodness for you!! Like others I was getting micro stutters and freezes for maybe 10 seconds on occasions. Complete transformation with this Driver. Many thanks, much appreciated!!
This worked wonderfully for my setup. Installed the hotfix, rebooted, cleared cache. Flew from TFFJ to TNCS in the Islander (2020) and the Black Square Analog Caravan (2024). Buttery smooth with maybe a couple of stutters (but couldn't quite tell, but might have been because of rebuilding the shader cache as you noted). I got 120 FPS on 2020 and 80 FPS in 2024. @@Patrik.Pereira That's bizarre. Do you play any other games? Have you tried maybe benchmarking your PC to make sure everything is performing as inspected?
What you should be telling everyone especially those with higher end cpu’s and gpu’s is to undervolt their i9’s and 4090’s. My stuttering was all caused by thermal throttling of my i913900k due to temps getting pushed especially on approach into busy airports. The Sim really pushes the hardware all the way to its limits in certain scenarios even the 4090. Once your temps spike, and the processor gets throttled you get massive stutters and in some cases system instability. Undervolting gives you that headroom back and allows your processor and gpu to boost properly when its getting hammered. no more stuters for me so why not try it?

Fair question, I've seen people refer to them that way. I sometimes get big, long pauses and sometimes just little quick ones. Either way as you say they're all stutters.
my experience is that people put too much strain on the graphics card people think that the rtx4070 is a super graphics card but it is not for 4k and ultra
bah i have a 14900k and a 4090 and this thing is a stutter fest.... always and nomatter what settings i chage i am cpu limited.... even tried putting both LOD's at 10 with no difference on cpu load....
What resolution are you running? I’m guessing 4K with a big screen?
@@IslandSimPilot 2k on a 24 inch
@@Patrik.Pereira That makes no sense at all. Do you have a lot of background stuff running? LODs at 10 and still having issues is indicative of something pretty major going on. I assume fast, stable internet connection? Have you tried a VPN?
@@IslandSimPilot nothing at all running in the background.... dont know what to think of it myself, been driving me crazy, have 10gb fiber connection
@@Patrik.Pereira That's bizarre. Do you play any other games? Have you tried maybe benchmarking your PC to make sure everything is performing as inspected?
Note that the hotfix is designed to adress issues in indiana Jones and for games that use Snowdrop engine, not MSFS
Not only. From Nvidia:
NOTE: May also address issues with some other games that were unstable with R565 (565.xx/566.xx) drivers
Ok, I didn't see that on the linked support page
Anyone tested this on NVIDIA RTX2080s?
Do we remove the old drivers or from above?
No. Keep both drivers and install both

Means: No Driverupdates so far :)
