Amazing tutorial. I get frustrated watching some of these RUclips MSFS tutorial because they just tell you what buttons to press but don't explain why or what they do. You give such a clear and concise explanation. Love it.
I rarely ever comment on any video, but holy crap, this is one of the best tutorials for anything I've ever seen. I have a terrible attention span, but this kept my attention from start to finish. No unnecessary crap, just straight to the point, and giving you exactly what you need. Headed to the next video, part 2. Not sure if you'll see this, but tutorials for the big airliner planes would be amazing.
Rare commenter here. Just had to pay respect to Kip for all of the tutorials I've watched of his over and over since MSFS 2020. Thank you very much for all of your efforts. Your tutorials made a complete rookie-sim pilot into a competent veteran. Thank you so much, Kip!
A tutorial?! Classic Kip. So many live streams made me forget how much you've taught me in MSFS. Thanks for the continual high quality content and editing.
I cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. It taught me so much about the things I was struggling with learning the Vision Jet. Now that I understand what FLC and MCT does I can start utilizing it
This is the best guide. I’ve watched quite a few and they all are either too long or skip over steps. I’ve constantly been watching this while I play to learn. I can’t wait for the descent/landing video!!
I just bought the Vision Jet yesterday. Today was my first takeoff with it based on the video. Everything went perfectly. Now I'm waiting to see in the next video, with passengers on board, how to land it.
Thank you for this fantastic video. This is EXACTLY the video I was looking for. Thanks for putting the chapters in the video, and the visual cues (arrows) because it's incredibly helpful!!!
MAAN, I don't mean to be pushy...But I'm going to need you to get part 2-3 out SOON. I'm getting tired of these ATC procedure violations. :( Lately, My strategy is just to cancel IFR clearance and fumble my way through an RNAV or ILS just for practice. PLEASE cover variations between what you plan on EFB, and what goes in the MFD. Maybe it's a glitch, but it occasionally misses legs and it gets lost. I assume it's because I didn't join the route and the approach or something, IDK. But, Solid magenta line in the EFB can't be trusted. PLEASE, make the agony stop! I'm trying to get rich.
I have the exact same problem. IFAIK, selecting an approach on the tablet and sending it to the avionic does not select the approch in the onboard flight plan (at least not in the Cessna 172 and the cirrus vision jet). I then add an approach manually by going at the bottom of the onboard flight plan and pressing proc/approach and then select the correct approach with vectors mode (idk whats the diff between vectors and the other mode), no minimum, and load. After doing that, the AT on GPS/FMS take me straight to the runway, and not to the final or approach. Any solution?
This video is awesome. To be honest I didn't even need it, because I don't fly the vision jet. In the career mode I'm using the caravan, but it's nice anyways to get to know how this plane works. Because it's quite different from the G1000 instruments which I'm used to.
Awesome video. Another RUclipsr did a similar video, but sped through it, only benefiting someone who already knew. You took time to explain. Well done
If using the keyboard to change the cockpit views gets annoying (it did to me), you can buy a MMO mouse and map all those buttons to the different views. EDIT: thanks for the tutorial, yours are some of the best.
Dude your videos are very informative and engaging, and I like the fact that you don't leave out controllers and different input devices that may be used when you're showing us how to Bind When you get a chance because i've looked through your channel. But I did not see a video on how to set up autopilot for the Pilatus PC-12 NGx 😢
My god what an amazing tutorial. You're a great teacher! Sorry for my ignorance, but can this tutorial be applied to all/most planes? Please keep the tutorials coming. You're easy to follow and very very helpful. Thank you!
I love your videos! And the Cirrus Vision Jet too :) Thank you very much! Would you be able to introduce us to the Pilatus PC-12 2024 in the same way? I don't like it at first try, but it could be faster than the 208b. But I'm afraid I won't get used to the PC-12, the colors of the screens make them unreadable, nothing is aligned it's messy, you also have to type on the bottom keyboard and look at the result in the screens above, enough to give you a stiff neck :D
When I switch to autopilot after a while during takeoff, the plane lifts its nose all the way into the air and tries to ascend 4-5k feet per minute. What could be the cause?
Great tutorial! Also i have problem with FLC when i want to descent. I'm on FL120 and ATC wanted me to go FL40, so i managed 4000 ft and clicked FLC, then the autopilot went like -6000 fpm and -100% trim. How to manage it to hold like -1000/-2000 fpm not using vertical speed?
Down in the autothrottle area (near the throttle never), press "MAN" and use the knob next to it to dial in the speed you want. Pressing "FMS" will go back to FMS-managed speeds that are set in the G3000 flight plan and VNAV screens. Another option is to go to the MFD touchscreen, press Flight Plan, then VNAV. Here you can modify the FMS speeds for climb, cruise, and descent. This way you can leave the AT on FMS mode instead of MAN mode, and just change the FMS-defined speeds.
@KipOnTheGround Thanks! I was trying the Speed selector next to the Throttle last night in MAN, but it didn't change speed, restarted today and it works. Thanks again ...
Im having issues with autopilot in all planes where it will bring me to the last waypoint before Long Final and Final on Nav mode and then as soon as it hits the last waypoint it tries to skip directly straight to the runway and wont follow the final pattern
Okay idk what to do. Im doing the check ride for my jet engine endorsment and my jet wont start up. Like it makes noise and then it beeps and the engines refuse to start. Idk whats going on
Anyone else having an issue where the A/T keeps wanting to activate while on approach even after turning it off? It seems like it kicks on all the time for me and I constantly have to turn it off on final.
The FS2020 version of the plane (from the same developer, FlightFX) did have the integrated checklists, but for some reason checklists always seem to be taken out when the plane gets the Microsoft treatment. The same thing happened with the CJ4. Could be a legal thing, not really sure.
When you're in walkaround, I see you've set your keybind for "Toggle Pins" for Ctrl+Shift+A. What is this keybind called in the Controls menu, as I cannot see it there?
That comes on when you enable ice protection to warn that your stall speed will be higher than usual if icing is present. It’s supposed to be able to be cleared via the MFD (under Aircraft Systems) but isn’t implemented.
FLC is a way to climb or descend with a specified airspeed. It's safer to use than VS (vertical speed mode) when climbing because as you gain altitude, the thinner air reduces climb performance. If you used VS to climb, you'd need to regularly reduce your specified climb rate (in feet per minute) during the climb, otherwise the AP would keep pitching the plane nose-up more and more to achieve that climb rate, reducing the airspeed and potentially stalling the plane. FLC maintains a specific airspeed (e.g. 165 KIAS in the vision jet) so as you get higher, it will pitch the nose down to maintain that speed. The climb rate will be reduced as the plane gets higher, but the safe speed will be held. In the Vision Jet specifically, VNAV can be used for both climbing (like when you are following a departure procedure / SID) and descending (via an arrival/STAR, or an approach, or any altitudes you define in the flight plan). VNAV lets you cross specific waypoints while following the rules set by those defined altitudes (e.g. "cross GATTO at or above 2000 FT", a restriction found in the KSAN ILS Y 09 approach -- or, in this video specifically, we use it to descend and reach a specific altitude for our Visual Approach).
This is the best plane to make some serious money in the early stages of career mode. The Cessna 208 is an absolute dog and will crash easily on you if you try to speed it up. Even putting it on autopilot causes it to porpoise and quickly become unrecoverable.
Amazing tutorial. I get frustrated watching some of these RUclips MSFS tutorial because they just tell you what buttons to press but don't explain why or what they do. You give such a clear and concise explanation. Love it.

Game changer. I was able to set this and do everything I needed to do around the house lol
Came back to watch part 1 again. Will also be rewatching the other 2. Also thanks again for the suggestion shortcuts for my Xbox joystick.
15:49 - overlay text says 28.84, but Kip properly inputs 29.84 as ATC instructions say to do. 29.84 is the correct setting.

Best tutorials on MSFS ever. Thank you so much for your hard work.
This is a great video, includes all the necessary detail, all presented to a top standard. I wish there were more guides like this.
Been waiting for this video! Just got my vision jet in Career mode and looking forward to learning how to fly the sky ferrari correctly
Great tutorial Kip. Really looking forward to the approach one in part 2 :)
Wow, best tutorial I've seen so far! Every important detail covered in an easy to understand way. Thank you! Looking forward for the next one...

Looking forward to watching the next part.

Nice video kip! Look forward to seeing your next one.

the vision jet is the best career mode plane. cheap, stable and easy, able to pay for itself many times over quickly

Can you please do a tutorial on how to use beyond atc with career mode
Thank you!
Lol I was just looking for a tutorial of this thanks
I found turning off battery 2 gets rid of the takeoff emergency battery message, don't know if that has any problematic side effects though!

Whoa KIP you a maryland native? KMRB is my local airport I am constantly doing flights to and from HGR/MRB
Nailed it, will we ever see a 737 tutorial
Yes :-)
This was great. Don’t flame me but are there any plans to add the MFD checklist like the actual?

Quick i need part 2 I'm stuck in the air about to need to start going down. 😅
My passengers were highly bugged by the time I took to setup things, and by the way nothing has been fixed by now.
Can VNAV system be used for climbing as well as decent?
Why is there 2 different ones ?
Which is the original 2020 FlightFX version ?
When you're in walkaround, I see you've set your keybind for "Toggle Pins" for Ctrl+Shift+A. What is this keybind called in the Controls menu, as I cannot see it there?
“Toggle visual assistances”
@@KipOnTheGround Thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated! Great video as well. :)
Have they rolled out the patch this week yet?
Hi Kip! I'm getting a white message on the PFD saying Stall Speed High. An ideas On how to clear that please?
That comes on when you enable ice protection to warn that your stall speed will be higher than usual if icing is present. It’s supposed to be able to be cleared via the MFD (under Aircraft Systems) but isn’t implemented.
@KipOnTheGround thank you!
per chance, is there a possible keybind for NAV mode to be enabled? i’ve looked through however i don’t see one.
Try "Autopilot NAV1 Hold"
@ that was it! thank you very much, Kip. Makes doing the ATC stuff that much easier for me.
when climbing, what’s the difference between FLC and VNAV?
I have a bug. My vision jet won't start at all.
This is the best plane to make some serious money in the early stages of career mode. The Cessna 208 is an absolute dog and will crash easily on you if you try to speed it up. Even putting it on autopilot causes it to porpoise and quickly become unrecoverable.
We just now discovered that if you set VS to 0 FPM it will be ultra-smooth when using Sim Rate :-) (thanks Raul!)
@@KipOnTheGround good tip i'll try

No SimBrief import of flight plan ?
You can import from SimBrief by using its new FS24 EFB app that's at the very bottom of this page: dispatch.simbrief.com/home/downloads
20:15 - thanks! just crashed my plane! turns out CTRL+SHIFT+A is a default keybind to shutdown all of the plane systems...
Ctrl+Shift+E is plane shutdown.
Ctrl+Shift+A is not bound by default.
Where’s the streams I’ve been waiting bro?
Right now!
Oh ok!
Hi kip!
👋
I’m really tired of the game killing my rep in career mode after scoring an A on a mission as if I crashed.
Dude. You have no idea how much I needed this exact thing right now 🥲
