The more a drummer practices with click or metronome the better their inner timing works. That helps when the click stops unexpectedly.
I use trashy cymbals and stacks all the time. Depends on which ones you get and how you use them.
Meinl dual hats, sabian Omni ride, aero crash and splash, HHX ozone China and a frequency crash. That's my set up for the most part.
