guys , be practical. you can’t convert a 10 gal tank without at least using some power tools. don’t give this guy shit because you guys think “of i can totally make this without a drill” like really and drills are only like 20-30 dollars.

Jenner Hernandez crested geckos don’t need a light, but you could honestly remove the acrylic from the top of the tank and
replace with mesh , more work but if you want to use it for a reptile that needs a light you might be better off doing that or just buying the tank

This build is very cool looking, but how do you light something like this? I would think that heat lamps would make the glass too hot to safely house geckos, and I have heard that UV light does not pass through glass easily. What is the work around for this?

You would probably had to do thin pieces of Sintra down the sides rather then on the top and bottom. The locks would be another story, you could see if the fit was tight enough and add knobs that have a latch, if not you might have to use a piece of Sintra down the center for the doors to connect and shut on.

$25 dollar terrarium... using hundreds of dollars of equipment XD
Any tips for those who don't have power tools?

+epiclids haha acrylic and Sinatra can be cut with an exact knife! You will need at least a cheap drill though

Exactly. I get that the guy is trying to help but folks shouldn't assume that you have all these tools on hand.

Jordan Nicole idk if it was in April. They did already have one I think? They typically do it twice a year or something like that. I saw it on a comment Petco made on their Facebook photo. If I could insert the screenshot for you I would.

I get what you say about a small tank and build. But I'd just get a 50 gallon fish tank top open only. Or something with fans. Just saying. Or a real terrarium. That you spend time modding other ways.

Skylark Lee how is the equipment expensive? can easily cut the acrylic with a xacto blade or utility knife. only thing you would need is a drill. which has unlimited number of uses after this project. cost $15 at harbor freight. really not expensive at all if you budget. just another cry baby on a great tutorial.

If you need to be doing enclosures on the cheap then you probably shouldn’t be purchasing the animal that goes inside. So.....
Not to mention power tools aren’t exactly that expensive and are a reusable usually one time purchase.
Also there sometimes just isn’t a way to make these enclosures without power tools 🤷🏻‍♂️ tired of seeing people always complain about not having power tools. Ok and? Buy some or get over it and just use a plastic tub.

The fact is, it isn't really just $25 to make. Tools used to make this should be considered. Whether it's drills, bits, saws or some kind of blade. You're going to need more than just $25 to get it done.
