I flew Futaba 9ZAP from the 1990's until a week ago. Now have the 16IZ. More than I'll need for the rest of my flying career. Love the super fast touch screens.
@MattTakharRC I STILL have both my 9ZAP radios. Ever since I was a kid, I used to dream about owning one. 20+ years later I still can't believe it's a reality!!
I also had one... however, it was used for land and sea for me....

Great video, honest, no BS, thank you! I really would prefer the weight of the 26SZ and like the top screen. The 16IZS has more than enough programs, mixes, etc. for me. Now I just to decide if the 26 is worth all that extra money.
Thanks for the feedback. I try my best to keep my vids BS free! 😁 The 26SZ is a nice set, but for most it will come down to justifying the spend unless there is a killer feature you need.

You really do a great job with the reviews, nice to see. For me it’s really about the 26SZ being a little heavier, better gimbals, top screen, charge port being on top, top switch spacing. I have to decide if those factors are worth the extra money.
Great review Matt!..I do have the 16izS and the older 16sz. Same issue on the prints on my older 16sz and be careful in summertime using sunscreen 😎 the prints doesn’t like it😩 Cheers from Munich, Sven🍺
Thanks for the feedback Sven! It’s a shame the prints wear off. They should really improve that. Maybe they have in the T26, I’m not risking it though!
With the latest software update many more speech files can now be accessible and linked to various switches for airplane , glider or helicopter functions ..the original software had only one available for the landing gear function..
Sehr interessant; vielen Dank dafür; was mir aufgefallen ist, der Stromverbrauch scheint bei der T26SZ wegen dem oberen Screen höhen zu sein; schade eigentlich!
Thank you for the feedback. That’s a great point, I have noticed the battery consumption is much higher in my T26SZ. I suspect it’s higher still on the 32MZ as it runs Windows.
A little bit substantial feed back on the 26 and 16 aerials and not just their physical gimmicky light weight ( if one does not extend them or deploy them out of their detent position then disaster would occur due to loss of signal from the TX or reduced transmitting power of radio with the aerial not extended and the ensuing hull loss ) this has happened sadly to a Turbine jet right after lift off.. a bad design that ought to be highlighted
Thank you for providing the extra feedback. I’m not a fan of the antenna design in the slightest. I was recently soaking to someone who managed to snap his on the T26. It’s an easy replacement but should have happened really. There are a few pictures on my website here matttakharrc.uk/step-by-step-guide-to-changing-the-antenna-on-the-futaba-16iz
Bought the T26SZ and now have my $1500 transmitter in the nice aluminum case my old $169 Taranis came in. The neck strap that came with it went straight in the trash.
Agree 16izs is more value for money plus allows me to use on all my old models that have FASST receivers
Just ordered a 16IZs. Your channel is great for introducing a Futaba noob to the products, thanks!
Great! 16IZs is the best Futaba TX suitable for majority of flyers. Great choice. New Futaba vids in the New Year 👍🏽

I also had the 9Zap, amazing transmitter for its time!

Sometimes you also just need to treat yourself! Which I do too often 😂
Very true!!

Thanks for the feedback. That’s right Futaba released a software update for the T16IZ which added more speech functionality. 👍🏽

Antenna is less likely to break than the 14SG. I just replaced my broken 14SG antenna. 😞
Did you see this post on my website? A replacement on the T16.

Nice! What neck strap do you use instead?
