  • Each of you get 1 mph.
Wow, that was intense! Not so smooth country road certainly adds to the thrill. By the end, my visor was plastered with bugs. My knuckles were covered in bugs. I probably ate some bugs without noticing it. Protein on the go! Anyway, thanks to all my subscribers. I really appreciate it!

The 80's was the Japanese muscle bike era.

Right! That was pretty Intense. I've gone faster on a Ninja but those things are made for speed. The Sabre is like a powerful brick - Not so aerodynamic.

Something 80's vehicles tend to get just right is making you feel the speed, I don't know what it is. A C4 corvette feels a hell of a lot faster at 100mph than a modern one does, or a Porsche or a Ferrari, even though you're going the same speed. Maybe it's the suspension or the lack of refinement somewhere but, this bike FEELS faster than it is, and it's already crazy fast.

The late 70's and 80's was the Japanese muscle bike era. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki were all duking it out for the most powerful and fastest motorcycles - Which they accomplished but the bikes were big and heavy with little concern for aerodynamics and suspension. Though, in their defense aero and suspension wasn't as well understood and implemented like it is today. Because these old machines lack those two things, I think that's why they feel so brutally fast. I went 150mph on my friends Ninja which was exciting for sure but it felt so much more stable and manageable. Now days they're just designed for and tuned for high speeds. I love modern technology but I'll always have a soft spot for old school muscle. Just something cool about these old brutes.

Going to a V65 forum is the best place to go in my opinion. Usually you can find threads of people doing the same thing and answering the same questions. This is a great place to start: www.motorcycleforum.com/
Hope you find what you need!
