It is a lot quieter in the cab when the stacks are not in the cab! looks smoother too! l drove 40 years! l was driving 600 horses in 1974 twin turbo V12 700 hoarse 1980 KTA ! WOOHOO!
I just don't get the grass burner exhaust why spend all that money on stacks and they don't work should at least turn the pipe out instead of down that will cause so much dust blowing on dry roads and lots will cover that pretty truck in dust causing scratch marks well IMO but still nice ride but keep doing what your doing Mike and keep the video's coming
@@bradh7472 Me too. I hate anything that's fake but this truck is unreal and the interior is beyond belief with the work station etc. And he's right smoking, in the cab is not good the smell stays in it. Cheers from Australia.
Some might think wow, what a lucky guy to drive this rig but if I remember right, it rains in Canada just like the USA and that makes mud out of dust. So he drives a sixty hour week and spends another twenty hours a week keeping it looking like it just was polished. My first little red butterfly hood Pete had me working seven days a week and when I got home, washing the dirt and junk off of a logging truck.... only one working stack, a 220 cummins with a five and four and thirty eights on walking beams had me conning the wife into help wash and wax it so it worked those seven days a week. I started out of the crib working on diesel engines and so they were as loud as could make, wasn't any jake brakes back then but a water tank to help cool the brakes. I had added shims and a double o fuel button so it pulled like a 335 and not even cops really ever tried to catch me, but when they did... my first stint was a slap and the second time was thirty days in jail. My wife drove the truck those thirty days and I almost lost my driving rights to her. Turns out every horndog would throw her wrappers and bind down the loads and the guys at the mill yard would bail out and pull and coil the wrappers for her and her daisy dukes. She wasn't stupid.... a long story on that part... she got caught doing seventy five loaded and they just said "Slow down honey" ... Errrrrr. Our roads were narrow and crooked as the dogs hind leg but I taught her well how to drive. After all, that truck cost nearly fifteen thousand new. That wouldn't come close to any taxes now days. I believe you make that much on a sales commission now don't you.???
Having smoke coming from your bottom. vs Rolling your smoke from the stacks on the sides of the tractor, in the early morning. Sorry, I'm kinda old fashion.
tool box its cool but its not a better idea to put pdf-scr under de right side of the cab and route the double exhaust????? and anyway whith the one box cummins system its take less space anyways??? thanks for your channels its awesome
Beautiful truck im not a fan of that fake pipe but wow what a beautiful truck love to have one lol 649 let's go right only way id buy one walk in to you guys at peterbilt say I want my 389 every thing on it then boom cash payed
You do know that if you ran the stacks up behind the sleeper they would be functional and you could hide the cooling air cutouts under the sleeper for the stacks and nobody would know the difference But PLEASE Put the quad air horns on the roof and take the paint off the visor
I've always wondered, being also part of Paccar, would it actually be possible to order a brandnew DAF (XG+) in Canada? Would be cool to see a DAF cabover on Canadian roads and I bet a lot of people with Dutch roots would think that also.
But it's still not an answer to a legit question. I already know US legislation severely restricts the import of vehicles younger then 25 years. However I don't know if Canada has similar legislation. All I know is your outspoken opinion on a truck you most likely know nothing about, probably have never heard of before or seen in real life (or ever).
Question re: the pipes. Isn't one of the reasons for having fake pipes is that the DEF will eat through the metal and trash the pipes within a year, or so? As I understand it the DEF residue ends up pooling up at the pipe elbows and eats through the metal. That's why all DEF tanks are poly and exhaust is turn-down? Gone are the "rolling coal" days of pre-2010.
Yes DEF makes a mess of the pipes and is corrosive to aluminum. The big reason for dummy pipes is they stay shinny and the bugs don't stick to them. Our body shop has made diverter valves so a guy can have both if he wants.
Hey Mike, did that 11 grand mistake come out of your own pocket or was that covered by the dealership? As a KW guy, I've always found it odd that Peterbilt had the best schemes and yet everyone wants a KW Seminole scheme
Forgot the number on the driver side door 😔 “But!!! She is one hell of a sexy looking truck! And those headlights look so much better than the other style!!”
@@mikethetrucknut love your content Mike! I have a 1988 9670 Cab Over and she has the same motor as Kenny! So hope to learn along side you when the time comes to start messing with the ole truck! Have a goo weekend brother and thanks for everything you do!
Sorry Mike, you screwed up again. I believe a FULL gage package, looks a lot better than taking a few out because “steering wheel is in the way” I’m a truck driver and if you did that to my truck, I would be very upset 😡
Sweet truck. Definitely should have swapped the steering wheel out. The new factory steering wheels are so ugly. All that classic Pete look, and an ugly plastic wheel. Reminds me of early 70’s Chevy muscle cars. The wheel was straight out of grandmas car

Stacks are appearances, Does blow dust BUT, connected stacks tarnish from emissions heat & bleed DEF around top of stack ext.
Bi-flow that exaust bi-flow is boss and sounds so good
Like the truck, beautiful, but hate, hate, hate weed burner exhaust.
Delete it when ordering yours, but can't make decisions for others. I am planning a 2023 567, will have inactive vert. stacks & and weed burner.🙊
Please connect the straight pipes up that’s just wrong all the looks with no bark beautiful truck tho 😍

Those trucks are so frigin' butt ugly, you keeps yours, North America is proud of our identity, come here, be here, or go home, wherever home is 🗽🗽🗽🗽
And how is this relevant to a question related to Canada asked at a Canadian. Let me guess, you're a US citizen.
