- For this episode of the Villain Mastermind Series I will be deeply explaining the philosophy and intentions of Fyodor Dostoevsky who is one of the most intriguing character in a series where almost everyone is interesting! Bungou Stray Dogs is another classically well written series with many good characters that I will (hopefully) explain in a video one day!!

I'm not a simp for him, but he is one of my favourite characters in anime. He is truly interesting as a character also highly intelligent, cruel and manipulative with the acts he does. He uses his own intellect to destroy his enemy using any means necessary and at time doing things majority humans are unable to to do.Possibly one of the best god like complexes in anime.
Feel free to Simp away lol!! Also 100% accurate he would’ve really shown if he was expanded on way more especially in upcoming arcs

Can't wait for Decay of Angels to be animated. When you thought Fyodor is attractive wait till you meet Nikolai and Sigma. Baby Sigma is to be protected from harm. Like 3/5 Decay of Angels members are attractive, it's impossible hate.

I was so stunned when i started watching BSD because I have been reading Dostoevsky’s literature for some time now - it is beyond! And this made me love him as a character even more!
His writing style really is captured quite well in the anime 👏🏻👏🏻

Finally a proper video about my rat boy fyodor is like my #1 villian now but kinda sad that you didn't say much about dead apple (its Canon) and explain about the circle between the three aliens aka fyodor, dazai, shibusawa.
Thanks man really glad you enjoyed it!! I didn’t talk about Dead Apple cuz even tho it heavily shows more of his dark nature it doesn’t really fall in with his plan... I get it’s cannon but at the same time it still feels kinda like a side story (will make a follow up tho)

The scary thing about Fyodor is that his ability is like 1% of his power, his intellect and cunning being 99%. That is why Dazai is the only one who can counter to him, to an extent.

my personal theory about Fyordor's ability is that, yes, while he is able to kill with a single touch, the ability only works on people who themselves have previously killed. Just a theory, and I also think this is a really cool video:)

I love him really much but he didn’t really outsmart Dazai. Ranpo yes but not Dazai, those two are still in an ongoing chess match
They almost share the same mind. They are completely alike and their nicknames say that too. Dazai is the devil and Fyodor is the demon

This anime is underrated and Fyodor is super underrated. He is most likely the best manipulator in bsd. Didn't catch up to the manga yet.

My favorite part about this show is that your favorite character could change several times even after you finish watching it. You notice new things on rewatches and even just thinking about the show on your own, and you realize just how complex every single character - even the minor ones, the non-ability users, like the secretaries or the head of Atsushi's former orphanage. Of the several dozen characters in the show, there's hardly a one that isn't worth analyzing on a deep level at some point.
Fyodor is most certainly a character that you uncover more on with each rewatch ...even if you were to watch the show 3, 4, 5 or more times, you would find a new facet to him, that leaves you questioning the information you already have. For me, it leaves me with an eerie feeling - that he's exactly as human as you or I. And in turn, you can never truly understand him.
Fitting for Dazai's rival to be the person in Bungou Stray Dogs to be the most human, isn't it?

Why do i feel like he has a past trauma though?
Considering we know hardly anything about him, he has been involved in crimes since a very young age (even before ADA was made), has a mysterious ability which can kill without even direct contact, is physically frail and weak, wants to remove the existence of abilities from the world - doesn't it make sense that he has some deep childhood trauma (probably related to his own deadly ability) which led him to decide that removing abilities would be the best choice

While the anime portrays Fyodor as some sort of demon, manga Fyodor is beyond that.

I just rewatched the Dead Apple movie- because I got intrigued by Ango & Chuuya’s convo about the Dragon Head’s Conflict
I think Fyodor knows something about Atsushi’s tiger since he was the one who told Shibusawa about it.
Shibusawa mentioned something about Atsushi’s ability being the envy of all other abilities as his purpose for Atsushi’s revelation about his claws.
With the not-so hidden subplot about Chuuya & Verlaine as man-made ability users in Storm Bringer from different countries, I think every ability user *might* be consequences from The Great War that the older characters casually drop the said term.
But as you’ve mentioned, Fyodor’s purpose is to find The Book of a blank novel which hasn’t been said much other than what you’ve described in this video that was said in the anime. And I think, like how he did with Tsubaki and the 2 pillar organizations of Yokohama, he just manipulated The Collector to go after this certain ability only for him to be killed.
Here in the movie, he did the same thing with the same purpose of perishing all abilities: have Shibusawa absorb his collection of crystallized abilities to turn him into an ability singularity and for some reason to be eliminated by another ability singularity (which idk if Fyodor is aware of Chuuya’s corruption form) then gifted Shibusawa’s original skull with a fragment of another ability to be eliminated [again] by Atsushi, Kyouka & Akutagawa- because, like Fyodor said, it’s better to have entertainment first before the real shts hit the fan 😂

I have *yet* to read the manga and all other BSD’s Light Novels, other than Beast manga (until chapter 12), Fifteen, Storm Bringer and 55 Minutes’ short synopsis, but this is what I’ve noticed so far about the big plot.

Fyodor definitely underrated, though with other recent manga chapters and arcs, I feel a lot more ppl recognize him beyond his simping capabilities. He's a very intriguing character like much of the BSD cast, and might make me pick up a bible to try and understand his character lmao. Well, maybe not the bible part, but I do plan on reading Crime and Punishment someday. At least after I finish The Hobbit, which I've just been reading at night so I can fall asleep.

It was really good and analysis video, i love bsd manga and i love read books and bsd too ) and Fyodor bsd version remind me of Ivan Karamazov in karmazovs brother book by reality Dostoyevsky , or raskolnikov in crime and punishment book by reality Dostoyevsky,

After reading the manga I would say that Dazai is still smarter than Fyodor, just see he's display on prison when even Sigma a member of the Decay of the Angels said that Fyodor stood no chance since the beginning, we still need to see the outcome of this, but right now Fyodor state is unknown.
