In 11th algebra 1, algebra 2 , trigonometry is taught which is equivalent to pre calculus and in 12th grade calculus 1 is taught. So if you are in 11th grade in india you could watch this series.
@@Nishant33p depends on the student. All highschools teach pre cal and cal 1. Generally you take pre cal senior year, but you can be a year ahead and take cal 1 senior year aswell.
I have just subscribed to your channel. I am a retired scientist(hydrogeochemical), a chemistry degree of about 50 years ago. I did calculus and algebra but have used just a little. Now, I have to help my grandkids to get into University and they want to be engineers and scientists. No problem to help them in chemistry and physics but Advanced Maths to prepare them for Calculus is a great pain. I have been avoiding it until now. Universities in Australia have Advance Maths plus Extension as a pre-requisite. Consequently, I have no choice but to review pre-calculus and calculus. So far I have really enjoyed your presentations and advice: "Do not do in your head but worked out in the paper" Great advice! I like the way you teach and present the topics. I am catching up and teaching my grandson for his preparation. Thank you very much, Professor Leonard. Still have 3 granddaughters and 2 grandsons waiting their turn.

11:33 ... writing the "input-output" as an "ordered pair" of coordinate points is also something that we can easily forget... and that is actually what the whole exercise is about... finding the input/output "connection" ... the (x;y) of the function at that specific point :D

I got extremely stuck on Trigonometry during an optional math course in high school about 20 years ago, and dropped out of that course. But I did find math really fun, so I actually started reteaching myself as much as possible from all the previous math courses from junior high school and onward, and made absolutely sure that I understood exactly what I was doing, and this then allowed me to finish Trigonometry, and at this point I have covered all of Professor Leonard's playlists, as well as studied some partial differential equations and fluid dynamics at university. It's really a lot about regularly reviewing stuff, and keeping an eye on both old and new material. It's also a good habit to try to derive laws and formulas on your own, since this shows that you know where they come from and how they work, and also guarantees that you always have access to them.

For those confused as to why (x+1)^2 = x^2 + 2x + 1 Here is why it is since he brushed past it a bit. the expression (x+1)^2 = (x+1)(x+1) meaning (x + 1) times itself. Which means you would take (x)(x) and get x^2 and (x)(1) = x and (1)(x) = x then (1)(1) = 1 If you simplify you would combine x + x which equals 2x Then your answer would become x^2 + 2x + 1

@@supersonik76 Hey, it went great. I got an A. It was a lot of math, but nothing impossible. I had to remember how to divide fractions and stuff. My class covered domain and range of a function, x and y-intercepts, slopes, y-mx+b, point-slope, asymptotes, that kind of thing at first. Then we got into trigonometric formulas, cos() and sin() stuff, finding the sides and angles of a triangle. It's pretty much all graphing functions and defining their characteristics with a bit of geometry thrown in. If you're watching videos like this to prepare I'm sure you'll do great.

saw my co worker doing calculus 2. got intrigued. mind you, i don't have any mathematical background aside from high school algebra, my teacher for trigo was so bad at explaining and i never got to learn anything. tried jumping directly to calculus and couldn't even grasp the basics of it. im on your third video, the moment you started the graphs i got lost but eventually you managed to pull me back in. with just that last part discussion, i think i just might have a chance to actually learn calc. so thanks :)

Wow I can't believe I finally understand this formula... This is the exact definition of derivative! You literally got the derivative by calculating this equation. Why couldn't I understood this in university?

I just had one question: (2x^2+1)/(x^2-5), he said you can't cancel anything or do anything more... I was confused when you can simplify and when you can't, because if it was multiplication instead of division I'd start distributing stuff to go further. Obviously I'm rusty on basic algebra so I'll have to learn more about this down the road. Absolutely phenomenal lecture once again, I'm steadily making my way through this playlist :)

Thank you sooooo much for all the explanations! I have to understand why in order to remember, and that’s something most math teachers don’t bother with. I need to understand context. I love the Difference Quotient preview and explanation. I tried learning before but was clueless as to what it was or why I always got the wrong answer. This is why I wanted Precalculus with Professor Leonard.

I just had one question: (2x^2+1)/(x^2-5), he said you can't cancel anything or do anything more... I was confused when you can simplify and when you can't, because if it was multiplication instead of division I'd start distributing stuff to go further. Obviously I'm rusty on basic algebra so I'll have to learn more about this down the road. Absolutely phenomenal lecture once again, I'm steadily making my way through this playlist :)
