Race Thompson’s 3 ball at around the 15 minute mark was the biggest shot in the game, in my opinion.
If he doesn’t sink that, the trajectory of the entire half could have gone south with UI up 4 and with the ball, starting to pick up some steam.
That shot was huge.
That was actually a scenario where you want to miss a free throw a the end. The scramble for the ball didnt give Illinois time to even throw up a prayer
did they intentionally miss? I wondered if it was a strategy but I thought making it was a safer choice
@@ryanamburgy2791 if a make gives them 3pt lead its prob the best move. Missing here intentionally i think is best. Unless the miss fires off the back rim and Illinois catches it in stride for a half courter lol
I’m a Indiana fan and live there my school was going crazy as they won go hoosiers
X man has grown so much this year its really incredible to see. I know he had issues in the past with being inconsistent and kind of a turnover machine. But he's gotten so much better. Maybe Im biased but I absolutely believe he's got next level talent. He has great court awareness and vision, his jumper is consistent albeit unorthodox. And his backcourt defense is topnotch. All he has to do is play within himself and keep his emotions in check and he will go far. Let's ride this train to the final four!!!

I went to this game and it was crazy
I like to watch these college finals games because of the level of play and close scores. This one was exciting for sure. Not sure what happened when the player threw the ball into the stands except he was expecting another player to be there for him per coach's instructions. Good Game.

Underwood let D’monte and Grandison play so much and didn’t let Goode and Melendez have those minutes. He’s finally accepted the freshmen have to play but they’re not in tune with the offense. Nice coaching! This team should have 4 losses max. Good luck to the freshmen wherever they end up.
I agree it says a lot about a coach when his team misses 14 wide open dunks and layups in an important game.
@@joshuakoeniger85 that’s a fair point for today’s let down, but the overall reason for this team underachieving is what I said. Also, should be running a press every game for at least 30% of defensive possessions. Every different personnel group should be running different offense based on their strengths. Coaching 101 stuff here. He knows talent and gets high character guys. His recruits are not the problem, then who’s that leave?
@@Growinggolfing yeah im agreeing with you it seems as if they don't practice layups and free throws as much as other teams or even boxing out on defense and set plays and ball movements other then to Kofi. they try to rely on talent and flash alone when everyone knows that doesn't work when it comes down to who wants it more. talent is not the problem it's what he does with it
Underwood is inderwhelming as a coach.
This loss will actually benefit us (Illini) ... We need EVERYONE healthy and rested ... we will get a 4 seed no matter what we did here ... This game did not matter in the grand scheme of things... Now it's time to bring home a National Championship !!!!

Great game, Indiana. What an amazing conference this year! As an Illinois fan, I'll take a Curbelo end-to-end for the win--7/10 that goes in. But, Indiana converted when needed, we didn't.
Who's your fan here, we've not had very many moments the past few years so I appreciate you letting us have some. Hopefully you can appreciate that pass he made pushing up the floor, that was something special. Here's hoping Big ten does well in the tournament all around.
Illini is the most consistently inconsistent squad
So, apparently, there was some time travel at the end of this game going from 1.7 seconds to 26 seconds... lol. Well, was definitely a bad turnover by Illinois with about 10 seconds left, but Indiana definitely showing some fight in this tournament. Can't wait for today's game... IU/Iowa

Congratulations Indiana you deserve the win. That should get you in the big dance for sure. that's coming from an illini fan. Not real excited for the illini come tournament time they haven't been playing well for the past month. Guard play has been horrible. Way too many turnovers. Guards can't shoot well one out of five days when it comes to the tournament. I'm looking at a second round exit again
@@mj6637 so what has plumber done in the past month one good game? Come tournament time we can't have him ice cold four out of five games. The guards turn it over way too much. Good guard play will get you deep into the tournament. Frustrating to see Frasier a 5th Year senior doing a no look pass with 15 seconds left in the game. Come on man. Been seeing it all year without them getting better going 5 to 10 minutes stretches without scoring. Come tournament time if you think that's going to bode well well again I can tell you come on man

Indiana 19 fouls, Illinois 13 including the ones they made at end of regulation. Illinois was the favorite among the refs and still lost, don’t blame the refs.

Illinois always goes in as a high seed but falls to a very much lower seed. They go in as a low seed and they make to the championship. They have no consistency.

It’s a horrible matchup for indiana + Michigan was a horrible matchup. Also we’ve never won 2 games since 2003…. It is 100% a definite bid after this game
