"Honest" has always been the word I would use to describe Taylor Swift's songwriting. That's why her songs are so relatable - honest lyrics and, of course, memorable melodies and great arrangements.
what a bold title and how relevant it turnt out to be 6 years later
🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
AND NOW, 2021, THEY WON ALBUM OF THE YEAR😭😭😭
His words in this interview have aged incredibly well. I’m so glad they found each other.
6 years later she’s still one of (if not) the most influential musician of our times.
Coming here 2 years after that comment… even bigger… it’s staggering, but she earned every bit of that success.
@@sirsimonthesentry4787 Coming here after The Eras Tour opening night lol. It just keeps getting more true.
Jack said exactly what I think and love about Taylor! I love this friendship!
Great interview Jack and incredible insightful. So glad you came into Taylor's life. I wasn't sure how I would feel about this album but it is growing on me and some of the songs are my favorite ever Taylor Swift songs. And due to Taylor I discovered you and the Bleachers so a great day for me and everyone else getting to see your talent up close and personal.
donna easty well this is about 1989 tho
Exactly she takes huge risks....but since she got the vision....it always pays off
And the work ethic!
2023 person of the year and still going strong in 2024
TS is talented 🎉❤
Great interview. RIP Larry 👑 King
LOL I feel like Larry's interview style has gotten a little more dgaf.
Jack: We met at an award show, which is kind of weird.
Larry: ...why -_-
LOL I f
And in 2024, she won the Grammy for Best Album, continued her worldwide Eras Tour, and dropped TTPD with 31 (!!!) new songs. Oh, and she’s dating the guy on the Chiefs! 😅 🏆
yazoo's "only you" has reached a top level, second actually, position in the UK charts when it came out and is a song... not many people know about? what?
because taylor not live in UK and for example some people in US don't even know who Robbie Williams is, and that was an 80s song so.....
"Who meets at an award show if they're a gentile and a me (jew); know what I mean?" Letterman: "Of course, I do, Jack Antonoff, of course, I do. Smiley face." :)
+Ian M Who are you quoting? And from what conversation? I didn't hear that said in this interview.
Which album are they talking about?
Yazoo! YAY!
Yazoo only you is a very well known song
Not in the modern pop scene
Not to most Americans, especially those in the pop scene
Yazoo (or Yaz in the U.S.) is such a great band! Favorite songs are Too Pieces, Bad Connection, Midnight, Only You, Situation.
Never heard of it
“Hook up”
and damn was he right
Mamzer talking to Mamzer.
what was the song inspired by yazoo
Gorgeous from Reputation! You can hear it in the synth
Gorgeous wasn't composed with Jack. She composed it with Martin and Shellback, and this was 2014. They we're clearly talking about a song in 1989. It's either I wish you would or out of the woods.
@@ginaldeguer I wish you would was inspired by she drives me crazy so it can't have been that
He is interviewing with jack not Taylor Swift lol
Why did he say hook up with Taylor swift
6 years later and larry king isn’t here to stay 👋 he dead
Oh my God. My whole family is asleep right now and I'm trying so hard not to make too much noise from laughing at this comment.
