My guy, to get lobs you need to be small forward, point forward, or center, and at least 6'6 height or higher. Now to catch lobs you need to pass to a point guard, then **YOU** set/pick, then run to the ring, don't touch anything like shoot or pass, they will do it automatically I'm pretty sure. Note that timing is key.
When im on my 6'11 center. I just double tap shoot then CP3 throws it to me then i got it and my player did a reverse dunk
Some others says 6'8 and above, I am very confused if it is 6'6 or 6'8 and above

I realized tonight how to catch lobs, after watch a lot of tutorials... The key is the first game of the season, I recommend edit the roster of the team you want to join before create your player and edit the tendencies to increase the THROW ALLEY OOP of the playmakers and SG to the maximum and the attribute PASS to do it well... Then try with your player 6'7" or taller (no matter the position) but... No set any dunk animation and select HALL OF FAME difficulty but remember, is in the game 1 of the season, your first game in NBA, set pick n roll and cut to the rim, try till you get it... If not, quit and try again... If you get it done at the game one, your player get programmed to catch lobs, then you can add dunk animations and everything and enjoy your player

If you want alley oop to you you must be 6'8 in height and choose a team with a high average in alley oop
Set pick and run towards to the rim but the key in this is TIMING AND PATIENCE

Not necessarily bro... Im 6'4 Shooting guard playmaker.. i can catch lobs in almost every offencive play.. if i played for 12 minutes a quarter i usually catch lobs about 15-20 a game
