I remember when we were questioning why joelinton was starting for us back in the day, when he was horrible. Now, we are unhappy when he doesn’t start.
No, I always questioned why he was being played in the positions he was being played in that didn't compliment his strengths. Even had arguments over it in that first season with fans online... He was always a top player for me
Then people were asking the wrong questions. He was almost a second striker at Hoffenheim, with a profile not too dissimilar to Roberto Firmino at Liverpool, with a slightly different physical profile. He was then brought into Newcastle and was being played as a target man for some reason, and people somehow thought it was Joelintons fault.
@@Dan-tr5kw Not to mention when he did get moved into similar positions to now, it was under Bruce's tactics that just didn't suit his strengths at all, almost the entire squad had no idea what they were doing...

yeah it wasn't the most exciting swap letting Maxi go for Barnes but it makes so much sense. Barnes is very much a Howe style player, direct, fit and follows instructions well. Definite upgrade but still sad to see Maxi go, especially to a league where no one will be watching him.

TONS!!! That is why it is vital as player if you have decision (which alot dont) is to make thr right one. That is why I dont fault the players going after big money moves to "odd leagues".. Because all it takes is the wrong setup, system, and coach at a big club to ruin a player. Their confidence more than anything. Then their stock plummets...

Look at most of tottenhams players now they’re playing attacking football, contes defensive style ruined a lot of them and made them look awful but they’re gonna show people this season when they play attacking football they’re gonna be a big problem

PL yes but CL no chance. Its game over once KM signs for the greatest team. I support NU in England but don’t get ahead of yourself, enjoy the experience but PL or top 4 is what matters to maintain momentum and the signings to match the elite.

I love a good underdog story, it feels like that with Joelinton. It makes me so happy to see this incredible transformation under Howe, from struggling in his forward postion to in my opinion one if the best midfielders in the premier league! Outstanding!

Kudos to Wilson, a great team player and shows great leadership. Barnes looks like he's fitting into the system well. Nothing pleases me more than to see Joelinton and Murphy smash them in, both got unwarranted stick and both proving those doubters well and truly wrong.
Only early days but Wilson and Barnes look to have good chemistry together. Last season combined 31 goals. Both stay fit we should be scoring freely.

Eddie Howe has created squad depth by using our old players, their all performing, Ritchi, Dummett, Lacelles, Murphy, Dubravka, plus a few youngens intigrating. This show's exactly how much of a great manager we have on our hands, talk about ya world class managers not many walk into a club that was litreally down and out, deflated and turned us into a force not only in England but ready for Europe, clubs are not gunna enjoy playing us because we always find a way and that because we do have a top top manager on our hands. Im no longer worried about depth anymore but a nice LB who can get close to double figures for assists would be the cherry on the cake for us. Up the mags ❤

I feel like joelinton is our best midfielder in terms of cm's. If he works on his shooting he'll be world class.
I say its Bruno and by a distance. Joelinton when breaking is great and if he can find the attacking consistency can become CL class, but watch our midfield, only one player can make consistent passes forward (progressive passes) - Bruno. He gets caught a few times but without him, we'll struggle this season - Tonali and Miley are tidy but are side-side / back to defenders passers. The other are generally ball carriers - Tonali is trying but doesn't seem to have the passing range/ press resistance to make consistent forward passes.
@@phoenixfire6559 In my opinion joelinton is better than Bruno and by a mile. But we'll see this season I guess to understand why I think he's better. For me Bruno is just good at picking a pass nothing else. Can not defend in the cdm role, loses the ball if anything loses the ball the most and when he loses the ball never gets it back. Looks very scared when we play the big teams very quiet in those game. When we play the bigger team the only one we see that shows heart or anything is joelinton. My humble opinion
