Great idea, but I think it needs 3-folding hinges instead of 2….for better support laying down and folding….great job…thanks for sharing….
Yes, three hinges would be ideally balanced if the Wood is well seasoned BEFORE commencement of the job. The smoothness of (advisable)Three hinges does not always work in tropical regions as all varieties of Wood (dry wood including Ipe wood)have a degree of both thermal coefficients of expansion and contraction with seasonal moisture fluctuations affecting dimensional movement. Perhaps, that is why he did not include the central hinge. Digressing from the comment at hand have you noted the number of electrical carpentry gadgets he has used at each stage of assembling ? Gone are the days where time was not the essence but perfection considered the epitome of craftsmanship. I do not in anyway wish to discredit this Carpenter's workmanship as he has benevolently taken out time to demonstrate the simplicity of designing a Bed cum Sofa.
