The interviews of musicians by Tavis are consistently the best. No matter the artist, they all open up and share with Tavis more deeply than we hear elsewhere.
Amy Grant is one of Gods greatest gifts to mankind. I've enjoyed her music for decades and her sweet kind spirit and personality shines bright. Thank you Tavis for a great interview!
Beautiful! I love her stories! May we all continue to mark down the stories of redemption that the Lord writes in our lives. Let none of us think of ourselves more highly than we ought! We need our Savior every moment of every day. I love Amy's spirit, she is so beautiful! May we all understand our own need for grace and mercy every day of our lives and sing and shout about the surpassing greatness of our God! Hallelujah, He loves us!
Admittedly,I’m quite jealous of Vince, spending his life with this wonderful woman who genuinely portrays the light and love of Jesus Christ. Beautiful Amy thank you for being a good tool in the nail scard hands of grace !!
It is hard to find the proper words to describe the gift that is Amy Grant. In watching her in this interview, while singing, I was reminded of that wonderful actress Greer Garson, in the movie "Random Harvest". She moved me to tears,,, and so does Amy Grant. You are the reason, the feeling that can only exist in the absence of the opposite!
Always great to hear from Amy. I still do not understand why she is critical of her ability to play the guitar. Everything she does is exceptional to me.
One day, several days I had been asking God to " fill my heart with songs of deliverance". In a couple moments I heard Amy's songs in my heart. The Lord within Amy's music God knows. I think about them pulling her music off the shelves. God is the one that gave me that and I look at what was done to her and the Lord. They did this to Jesus. Debbie
First time I saw Amy Grant was in willie Nelson and this Hippy bus . But she was so pretty . But Willie was castrated for wanting to do other music beside country but that album went number one too and had pop , blues and easy listenibg I remember it I think I still have it but I remember her and that Hippy Bus. I never miss anything with Willie Nelson.
Amy I saw this interview and I wanted to say as a fan as someone you dont know. I heard you say that fans will talk to you like they know you and will tell you there problems. I know that feeling and I hope I handel it in grace. We are close in age, a musician, singer and I wanted my music to be just like yours. But a funny story in houston in 1990 I fell down stairs in front of you. Kindove funny huh. I'll be a fan from a far, and love your music still. god bless-stephanie faircloth

I just want to mention also, one day watching the gospel of John on DVD. Looking to the Lord (what's he going to teach me). I didn't realize it till I got up and fast forwarded the movie, it was in the place of the Pharisees or a saducee. God let me feel that spirit, now fast forwarding to get past him. Awful spirit. I didn't realize that God was doing that and I looked up realizing I fast forwarded it. I think of how Jesus trying to save his soul. " how will you escape the fire of hell? Therefore I will send teachers, prophets apostles some of them you will kill persecute and crucify". We each work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. I could say more about what the Lord showed me but this is where each person's walk gets these things from the Lord. Also in comparison meaning how Jesus dealt with the situation- the woman caught in adultry and people ready to stone her. Jesus is our example of how to deal with these things. Debbie
I’d never diminish Amy Grant’s accomplishments but I was pretty aware at that time - and prior - that there were a lot other CCM artists available. You might have been there but not all there? Peace- I mean no harm but just be honest here...
Amy, I think I've heard you have done some acting acting in the passed. I'm picturing you to play a woman named Hadazza in one of my scripts. If I happen to have this movie made, I hope they choose you to play Hadazza... I hope you have a martial arts back ground, cause Hadazza's a fourth degree black belt.
I hated seeing Amy Grant go further & further from the Lord....her immodest dress is just an outward show of that... yes, and I know the world will disagree with me...but I like to see a lady look like a lady❤❤❤
*Tavid is such a horrible interviewer! I guess when you are an awful person, it is hard to pretend otherwise. Still, this is a good presentation by grant!*
+Michael Anthony - Whatever you think of God or Jesus, i think this interview was fine; i'd never heard of or seen this Tavis Smiley guy before, but it was a great interview, because he was asking good questions directly but respectfully, on personal and on professional areas of her life, and giving her space and trust to answer in an honest, authentic way, so, she did, and that made it interesting. And he invited her to actually sing, and she was relaxed enough to stop and share a laugh at herself because of her own guitar playing, and then even carry on stronger as if she'd not even stopped.... Mate, i just do not understand how anyone could think this was a bad interview or he did not do well in this interview. Would you like to explain your thinking?
+Michael Anthony - Who is Travis? Oh wait: do you mean Tavis? Well then, you have gone from saying he is a "horrible interviewer" before, to his now being simply an objet of "hate" for you. Why? What do you dislike about him so much? He is an excellent interviewer because he asked smart questions, and gave her time to reply. He is clearly a nice guy as Amy was pretty relaxed and they both focused on meat conversation. What more do u want? Really, if you are going to make such extreme and emotional personal statements, the least you can do is try to explain your basis for your living and working in such a negative way, or be specific about what you dislike about that one person..
+ xenafan234 Since God COMMANDS that we as Christians "judge righteously" I am sure she obeys GOD.. not your impressions of who you THINK she is. @@Todd63790Todd, many English speaking people take that scripture out of context in James. The word "justified" in greek is "dikaioo" which translates, "shown to be righteous." That scripture isn't saying that a man is made righteous be his works, it's saying that a man is 'shown to be righteous' by his works. Conclusion, that scripture is in no way telling someone that they are made righteous by their works, for by the works of the law "no man will be justified." Here is a good teaching on the meaning of that verse ruclips.net/video/cvI6fh-X05Q/видео.html Romans 3:20. Paul nor James contradicted themselves when they say it is "by faith that we are saved, not of ourselves, it is a gift of God. NOT BY WORKS so that NO ONE can boast." Also, the words of Jesus confirm this when he said in John 6:40 "For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and BELIEVE in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.” Matthew 25:25 was a parable about wise and unwise servants. You are reading too much into that verse. Christ wasn't speaking towards salvation there by works. Also in John 6:29 "This is the work of God, that you BELIEVE on him whom he has sent". God is pleased to give the kingdom to those who ask, this is a gift.
