  • Fender Squire Affinity Telecaster Polishing the Frets on a guitar is a rewarding job, that not only makes your frets play smoother but they look great too. I have always liked the look of a Fender with a glossy fret board and so I wanted to create one using true oil and that's what inspired this video.
Here's the video on how to airbrush your fretboard with Tru-Oil

I am going to reveal an embarrassing moment and how this whole process got started. This would be an embarrassing moment for any guitar painter… but this one happened to me a while back.
I had this Squire Affinity Telecaster Deluxe up for sale on Facebook marketplace and I got this offer from a guy to trade it for an an amazing looking Firefly LP guitar.
So I arranged to meet up with Dan at a local watering hole and we both pulled our guitars out of our cases and we each looked each others over. His was pristine and a beauty and although mine was good. Dan pointed to a small place on my Squire Affinity near the neck pocket between the horns where I had previously missed finishing and polishing the clear coat on a repaint of this guitar I bought new but it was a scratch & dent.
Frankly it looked like the classic “crack at the neck pocket” that is a continuing problem for some Fender Tele’s and Strat style guitars.
I was so embarrassed and immediately apologized to him for presenting this guitar because It simply was not 100% ready. I also vowed to myself, never to make that kind of mistake again.
If you’ve ever had an embarrassing, moment in a guitar sale? By all means share it in the comments.
So here I am back at my shop to fix my own screw up and I thought to myself, why not go all out and turn this already great guitar into a real show piece and a pro playing guitar.
So in this video series that's what you're going to see, is a transformation from boring black Fender Squire Affinity Telecaster to a bling filled glitter bomb, that has a nice shiny clearcoat on it.

The Airbrush I am using is actually a freebee that we got from Temu, it has no make or model number on it so it's not possible for me to give you that info. It came with a .35, a .5, and a 1.0 needle set and that's about all I can tell you.
