In 2012 or earlier, NJ Transit stored 7 Comet l push pull cab cars and coaches on the siding alongside the Atlantic City Line main track. Two cars were removed. The coaches had been leased to Montreal's commuter system and still had French and English decals on them. Cars are gone now. Sterling Rail brokers listed the cars for a long time, apparently no takers.
I'm in talks with a state DOT working to get 100 miles of right of way that has potential; but almost all of the track has been pulled. I'd like t find out who owns the units and track and see if they cannot be acquired for the line. There will be a rail museum at each end of the 100 mile line; and I'd love to include these units; as they would from time to time be transferred to the museum at the other end of the line to create reasons for people to return. Anyone have contact information?
The train cars are not actually abandoned. They are private property, and anyone found on the property is at risk of being prosecuted for trespassing. Please find a better location for any type of photography and/or video taking.
You are trespassing on private property. All of that equipment is owned by The Southern Railroad of New Jersey or private individuals. My suggestion is stay away or you could go to jail.
Who are you...the TRAIN GOD!?!?!?! If they DO own it, as you seem to state they do, then why aren't they DOING something with it...you who are SO ALL KNOWING AND ALL WISE(ASS)!!
Really cool. I'm glad you were able to get in there.
