I got this DVD in 2012, shortly after it was issued, and watched it with my (then) eight-year-old godson. He described the first movie as "perfect." Six years later, he still hasn't seen "Captain America: The First Avenger" -- and has long expressed indifference to it.
It would‘ve been interesting if Reb Brown made a special guest appearance on the Incredible Hulk TV-Series as Captain America, the role he portrayed on TV twice,in an episode in which the star-spangled man meets the emerald giant and they battle each other.
wow... first 30secs alone are riff worthy. How can that guy keep a straight face, between the blue spandex, the cycle helmet and "old people are my friends". I'm sure after laughing so hard that he hurts, the guy would reply "How many people just got run over by my buggy you just let go after you pulled me out?" :P
Capitao america e top nos 70 devia ter uma serie dele com 50 episodios e uma pena que os produtores nao pensaram em produzir uma serie pro nosso heroi parabens pelo video
Captain America 2: Death Too Soon was originally shown in 1979 on CBS in 2 one hour episodes like it was a weekly show like The Amazing Spider-Man (1978) and The Incredible Hulk (1978). Both one hour episodes had an intro that ended with a yellow title card with the Captain America logo and a drawing of Cap from the corner piece of his Marvel Comics at the time. I wish Shout Factory would have included it as a bonus feature on the DVD.
I'm sure this comment will be buried, but today i found out that this guy, Reb Brown, is my friends literal next door neighbor. They talk all the time. Very cool!

We all know how great that scene at 1:52 is but can we also take sometime to acknowledge the fact that people are just in the background casually walking liking nothings going on.
Lol. Yes. This was how it was on all the 70s and 80s hero tv shows. It actually has been said that in some of these shows, pedestrians and passerby’s really did not care and thought the heroes were ridiculous and crazy, unless they presented a bit of a problem to the public such as the hulk.
people comparing it to 250 million dollar movie, this was made for TV in the 70s of course it's going to be cheesy but at least it has comic book spirit and no cookie cutter hipsters in the cast lol
The Chris Evans Captain America movies capture the comic book spirit better than any other version. Heck, his character is even better in those movies than in the comics.
The time it took that shield to come back to ground level, that thug could have slashed up granny's face, cashed her social security checks, and be inside of a bar bragging to his homies.
@@AtticTapes14 It's stupid. What part of this was realistic? Cap barely shakes guy, not even in a violent way. and the guy folds? This movie is far from realistic.
Sadly, vibranium was in short supply in 1979, so they had to make Cap's shield out of plastic.
Glitcher2000 - a LEAD pie tin would be more effective, though I don’t think it would come back.
