I love that the pianist snuck in a little tribute to Carl Carlton's She's A Bad Mama Jama. I remember being a kid in the 90s who obviously never would've known the reference, but my dad pulled out his old Carl Carlton record and played it for me, and my mind was blown.
There are so many great little moments in this act. The guy which is terrorized by his dog while playing, the guy having a great time on the xylophone... but the best part for me is the face of Mel C in the end when she takes of the headphones with this expression of "yeah, we made it right". I never liked the original music of the spice girls. But this song in this arrangement is stunning! However, there is one which holds a candle to this! A quite new cover from "Postmodern Jukebox". Who hasn't seen it jet, just search for it on RUclips. It's at least on the same level as this video. Simply awesome music.
Love this version, love her voice, love the memories in brings since being a little girl dancing and singing to the Spice Girls albums back in the 90's in a small Mexican city. Sporty was my favourite one and still think she's very talented. Thanks for sharing this! I feel so inspired 💜
