Good haircut Shari. Volvo sure makes a goodlooking vehicle.
I had to decide whether to wait 2-3 years for the EX90 or buy an XC90 recharge with a one year delivery. My wife is disabled and with my normal holiday destination has one , yes only one charger within 10 miles in Devon England I played safe and have my XC90 recharge.
The infrastructure isnt their and with more and more electric cars I can see huge problems coming down the road.
Can you make a video comparing Buick Envision and Mazda CX-50
All I ever wanted was a 7-seater electric SUV. The Tesla Model X was the clear (and only) choice until recently with cars like the Rivian and the Mercedes EQS, but the Model X was still the front runner… until now. I’ve been waiting for a fully electric Volvo 7-passenger SUV for many years and now that it’s here, I put it right up there with the Model X. Now I have a decision to make.
Just remember that Geely owns Volvo. Buying Chinese means exposing yourself to potential spyware embedded in the infotainment & navigation system of this Geely. Huawei is banned for a good reason
It should be fine. I own XC90 2020MY 7-seater and had no problems so far. The most reliable car I had to the moment (after KIA, Toyota, VW).
Guess they fixed all the teething problems the SPA platform had in 2015-2018.
So it should be fine.
Family loves XC90 and it’s fun to drive it on daily basis -a cosy car with excellent sound system.
@@Machetero1240 This is a new SPA platform. So, it may very well have teething problems.
@@benjaminsmith2287 it’s an upgraded SPA that they call SPA2.
For sure there will be some initial problems- there is no car that had no problems in the beginning of production.
But I’m sure they will be minor compared to the launch of a brand new architecture after leaving the Ford platforms.
What I think? I already have a deposit put in for one.
nice like the look why 3 rows on a already heavy wagon ?
I would buy it! It's a Volvo, safe, with average reliability, good looking! Best luxury car brand Period!
Biggest risks are gone with this. Engine and transmission. Even still ICE models are good for 150kmiles at least.
I noticed that the wheels are going in a backwards motion😮
I always scratch my head when an automobile manufacturer states that their EV gets 300 miles of range but then states the fast charging times at 10-20 % up to 80% in 30 minutes... that means, if I am traveling, I lose 30-40% of my range (only 180-210 miles) unless I am willing to wait around for another 30 minutes to get 100% charge… allowing your EV to go below 20% charge is playing with fire since you may not be able to find a working charge station within that limit… with an ice vehicle, you can get down to 1% of fuel capacity and pretty much find another gas station in time to refuel and do so up to 100% in 5-10 minutes… even if I run out of gas completely, if I have a gas can, I can walk to a gas station, get 5 gallons of gas, walk back and have enough gas to get to the station and refuel… you lose all your charge on an EV you have a brick and all you can do is wait for a tow truck to tow you to the nearest charge station and wait around for 40-60 minutes for an 80% charge… all this inconvenience plus EVs are thousands, even 10s of thousands, of dollars more than the same ice powered vehicle… so, the fuel savings are mostly negated or an ROI is never realized because of the absurd initial price differences… Yeah… I believe EVs are probably the power source of the future for autos but, as of now, they are still the vehicles of risk-taking early adopters, the upper-middle class, and the rich… maybe in another 20 years, they will be affordable, and practical enough for the average consumer.
In cold climates, you’ll loose 40% of your charge in One night.
That's why synthetic fuels are a much better solution than this, still underdeveloped, tech.
Its called marketing
My model 3 is 300000km since June 2019, and I often go to 3%, even stopped to recharge at 1% a few times. I think the range they’re giving is the real one, not an homologated one.
@@fabfabcemoi I’ve done similar a few times in my model 3 (85k miles) but doing so regularly does degrade the battery. His point is valid for many people. EVs are totally fine as commuter cars and can (if you have access to the supercharging network) be used on longer trip without much anxiety but the range and infrastructure (and price) are still years away compared to ICE vehicles. I’m an early adopter and I agree with all his points.
What about rivian r1s?
I have a deposit down, but I’m concerned. A two year delay is a lot of time to a consumer, but the car is gorgeous.
my daughter got one and got a free trip to sweden?
Hi sir, can you show us for fisker EV and BYD EV please.
How much? For questionable reliability? I'd rather put a Hybrid Conversion in my '20 Lexus UX and drive that for another 150k miles. Pass on this one.
Thank you for your service, brave Ukrainian warfighter! 🙏
SLAVA UKRAINYI!
HEROYAM SLAVA!!!
🇺🇸🇺🇦🇨🇦
@islandon22 Sorry, I only know English. Which part of Ukraine have you been defending?
its an ev it has no engine
It’s Geely Volvo
I rather say, should you dump this and buy 2 Tesla for the same money?
Im curious how much it would cost to replace that front windshield full of sensors etc which is generally needed at minimum every other year in Canada
I remember volvo used to put battery in trunk for safety. To replace need a few hours. To change light bulb takes 2 hours @$200/h for $5 light. The best experience is to get rid of it and see you are saving so much. Junk for years.
To chance a light bulb is only a clip and you take the headlights off
@@wagnery4920 I am talking about the light on the dash. The hold dash has to be taken apart. But looks at the new fancy headlights. Do you think they are only $5? I found volvo s are designed so they are very expensive to fix. A toyota would be easy fix $1 to replace light on dash.
Battery change - 10 minutes light bulb 15 minutes all by driver. What are talking about? Do you even own or have owned a Volvo. Don't tell things you don't know.
@@davidlevitz2261 so you are saying that a luxury electric SUV is more expensive to maintain than a Corolla? No way!!!
will definitely choose Model X every time.
but the EX90 looks so gorgeous, and interior looks sleek.
but in the end of the day, Model X still is the less regret for me
Its a Geely
@@yslee1401 No it's not. It's a Volvo. Volvo is part of the Geely group. But this is not a Geely Auto car.
@@benjaminsmith2287 it’s like saying Porsche, Audi, Skoda is not Volkswagen but part of the VW Group. Makes no sense
@@yslee1401 VW is a car brand and a group. They're not the VW brand. They're in the VW group.
how is this a review ? I don't see you inside the car or driving it .
Nobody has driven it.
Shari,
Thanks for the review.
What EV buyers don’t know is that to produce an EV battery, they will have to drive their EVs 90K miles before they break even on the pollution aspect when you look at how much pollution goes into the atmosphere to create the EV batteries.
Furthermore there are no safe places to discard any EV battery. They pollute the ground for hundreds of years, which will eventually get into our ground water.
I've heard this before. No question that you begin with a huge carbon deficit when buying an EV thanks to the battery. How long it takes to break even on that initial carbon deficit is debatable because of all the variables in the manufacturing processes and the variety of EV batteries. For some, it could take 20-30k miles to break even. In any case, this is an area where EVs will likely dramatically improve over the next decade...hopefully.
It’s a dirty little secret that everybody wants to ignore. Especially the environmentalists.
I get it. Put Tesla in the title and get clicks. I with I had a buck for every time I see RIP Tesla or Tesla killer in the title.
I really dislike that. Talk about the Volvo and enough about putting Tesla in the title of every EV car coming out. It's tacky and unnecessary.
Never buy a Chinese car. Never.
What about this is Chinese?Designed and developed in Sweden by swedes and manufactured in the USA. 😂
@@samueld6511 but so many parts made in China. R&D centre in China. Sweden is just marketing. China company making chinese cars.
You’re probably typing in a Chinese made smartphone…. At least the components
but your using a chinese cell phone! and Volvo ex90 built in usa and sweden
@@samueld6511 Geely owns Volvo, period. These Chinese try to remove this stigma by having Sweeden and USA in their marketing statements does not mask their connection with the Chinese Communist Party
Volvo is a scammer! My brand new 2023 Volvo has a steering wheel that vibrates very badly, making it quite annoying and UNSAFE to drive, and Volvo doesn’t want to fix it.
If you're considering purchasing a Volvo Car, I advise you to be careful and aware of the issue.
Get it fixed. Escalate it to Volvo NA. Volvos are excellent and all car makers have cars that have issues, not just Volvo. Volvos are very nice vehicles but some of them have issues.
This is not really a Volvo. It’s not even close to your weird uncles Volvo.
Terrible range
Overpriced
Awful reliability
Expensive service
Leasing is the absolute worst and most expensive method to finance a transportation device.
Hard pass on this one folks. 👎🏼
I miss uncle's Volvo. Those were real tanks.
you're a hater and broke! 1. Its an ev it has no engine all you do is charge it! 2. Volvo has average reliability compared to the germans the s60/xc40/v60/s90 are the most reliable models. and its pricey because its a LUXURY brand!
@@Quinton0520 Incorrect on both accounts sir.
@@billyrock8305 if you’re broke just say that! Because that’s what it’s giving.. “ omg this luxury suv is overpriced”!
@@Quinton0520 You sound like a disappointed Volvo owner in financial trouble whose feelings have been hurt. Now now junior you’ll be fine. Remember son invest for the long haul. Don't get too greedy and don't get too scared like you obviously are now. The best way to measure your lack of investing success is not by whether you're beating the market but by whether you've put in place a detailed financial plan and a structured behavioural discipline that is likely to get you where you want to go. I know your an adult who failed to launch, but can you ask your parents if you are allowed to create a solid financial plan doubling your investments every 6 years? 🤔
