    It’s been brought to my attention that buying straight from GFF actually saves you like $50 so do that if you buy it! Screw the affiliates fr! I only get like a few cents anyway, save yo bag!!

    I owned this for about a year and did you know you can do standing leg curls? Just remove the leg rollers closest to the weight horns and use your hands to lift up the weight to start and get into position.

      That’s pretty interesting, good to know for those who like it! I’m sure the range is better too.
      I hate’m though hahah also I think I like two legs at once now 😅 but I’m glad people are experimenting, thanks for the input man!

    This couldn't have came out at a better time because I just watched your video on the Bells of Steel one yesterday, ordered it on sale for $290ish and now I just canceled to get this beast. Glad to see you finally found the solution. Also, I see a lot of potential in your channel bro, stick with it!

      Nice! I’m glad you got to it in time. I hope you like the GFF as much as I do, I’m not affiliated or sponsored by them but it’s a good piece fr
      And thanks man! I appreciate the sub and encouragement. I’ll try to keep it up, the whole RUclipsr thing is all new still though lol

    Didn’t even know this existed until your video popped up, right after the rack mounted comparison. This might just be the solution I’ve been looking for but couldn’t even comprehend before watching. Great review, and thanks for being genuine. Keep up the great work. #Subscribed

    Thank you for evaluating this product. I've been searching for one for quite some time. I'm using your affiliate link because ordering from Amazon saves me $20 on shipping to California. While FedEx charges $162 for ground postage, Amazon offers free shipping.

    U should incline your REP bench a bit, so you get a greater ROM on the leg extension and don't reach to the floor with your feet. You should also check your positioning when doing leg curls

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  3 дня назад

      I actually prefer the fringe bench for it though and have found that laying down does increase ROM oh-so-slightly, but that wouldn’t help with feet touching the floor, only raising the top part helps (which I did in the vid). Also fixed my positioning when recording later (also shown) but still good points, thanks!

    I have the same machine and I use the top hook to hook into my functional trainer. I use two chains (one for each weight stack) and lower the functional trainer to the lowest position on both sides. Works very well and the resistance stays constant through the movement.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  3 дня назад +1

      Dang man, really making the most of it! I hope to get a functional trainer this year but we'll see how it goes!

      @LeetGarra 2 дня назад +1

      I was wondering how I could hook this to my functional trainer, using that top hook. Having trouble imagining your setup.. are you facing towards or away from the functional trainer? How do you position the bench? Thanks!

    • @shawnhann2858
      @shawnhann2858 2 дня назад +2

      Facing the trainer. I use two carabiners and two chains. After hooking it up I pull it away from the trainer to take up the slack and it’s good to go. You can also leave it hooked up and go from leg extensions to Nordic curls by just upping the weight so it doesn’t budge and raising the pad. I love it! I have the belt squat machine from them too and it’s even better!

    In my book any leg extension machine with the pivot point in the front is better that any leg extension machine with the pivot point to the side.
    So from the beginning I knew which one I would like better.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse

      It’s really too bad that there’s so few companies doing the center. I get that engineering it that way is more work but it’s just so much better.

  • @verablack3137
    @verablack3137 3 дня назад +1

    It looks like it wouldn't be too hard to make a wall hanging attachment for this, it is a bit heavy but, as long as you mount it to a stringer that is hooked into the studs I don't see why it couldn't be done, it is still a fair bit lighter than most of the rack mounted leg extensions.
    Does it seem possible to lay on a bench on your side, hook an ankle strap to a chain and raise your leg to work leg abductors? An abduction/adduction machine takes up a huge amount of space after all

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  3 дня назад

      I guess you’re right about hanging it! It’s about 50lbs but I’ve seen concept 2 rowers hung as well and those are 57lbs. Just a matter of finding something it fits on!
      I’m speculating but I think those would suck on this. My reasoning is that you would want your joint to be in-line with the hinge of any given machine as shown by my mistake with the leg curls in the vid. It felt awkward and uncomfortable until I adjusted my knees, so with abductors you would want the hinge in line with your hip and already that seems like it wouldn’t work since the lever arms aren’t long enough. One could maybe do it but it would def feel awkward one might be better off using a pulley system off amazon ($40-60) which I also review haha or bands which is actually what I use for abductor and adductor work.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  2 дня назад +1

      Well at only 3 inches taller, I’d assume your legs are only like an inch or inch and a half longer, so I’d think it would still be pretty comfortable but much taller than you would probably get iffy

    Another solid review from our boy Porky!
    So, what is the major difference between this unit and the $130 bench-with-leg-extension deals from Cap/Marcy? Seems like it’s the same-ish resistance curve, has the plate holder in the middle, and those adjust up so you can lean back when doing extensions.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  4 дня назад

      Welcome back man! Thanks 🙏🏼
      For me the biggest thing is that I want to use myyy benches, I don’t really want to be stuck with some bench that kinda sucks just because it also has a leg X/C. And some of those are also not removable so it would always have them on the end. But the ones you mentioned also have the plates basically right on top of your shins instead of that 45° angle out so the resistance curve on this is actually better.

    • @kidbrown2010
      @kidbrown2010 3 дня назад +1

      Those attachments on Marcy benches don't hold nearly as much weight. If I remember right one of them I saw one time was like 100 pounds limit (don't quote me on that though). That's just not going to take a serious trainee very far.

  • @kidbrown2010
    @kidbrown2010 3 дня назад +1

    I was searching high and low for a review of this thing! You came in clutch. It's $180 US Dollars here in Canada (from their website, not amazon) and they are located 15 minutes from my house. At $300 in the US it makes absolute no sense over the Lionscool piece, but for my situation it's very attractive.
    A couple of things that I'm still a hold on:
    1- 8:49 The ROM (not resistance curve) on leg extensions seems pretty limited. I wonder if you could theoretically strap foams or something to make the knee go a bit more forward for a deeper stretch.
    2- 9:39 Wouldn't more plates come in the way of your feet when performing curls? Or would you just point your feet outwards and the exercise would feel the same?
    Thank you for the video and if you can further chime in I'd appreciate it massively.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  3 дня назад +1

      It makes sense over lionscool for space. Normally that’s like $450, but when on sale it’s like $300 which makes it the easier buy. More comfortable, better resistance and probably a better ROM but man it’s pretty big, so I chose to have 80% of the product that takes up 50% of the room, ya dig?
      1 - I’d say the ROM is like 90% there. Making the knee more forward would remove it from in-line with the hinge and make it uncomfortable/awkward. I think a better solution would be to drop your butt lower by either raising the GFF or getting a lower bench. Does that make sense? But 90% of rom is still pretty dang good.
      2 - They actually don’t get in the way persé, unless you absolutely love flexing your tibia while doing curls. But even then your toes just touch the face of the plate and the sides are never interacted with. Pointed toes mean you never touch the plates
      I hope those answers helped!

    It's bending because you over tightened it.

    • @Porkys.Powerhouse
      @Porkys.Powerhouse  2 дня назад

      If you’re saying the GFF is bending to the right because I over tightened something, you’re wrong. There’s nothing I could have over tightened to make the welding do that.
      If you’re saying that there’s a tilt in the Rack mount piece because I over tightened that, you’re wrong again. Over tightening the hinge there would just make the leg roller not swivel.
      So unless there was something else I’m missing, here’s a poem for you: you’re being smug, I know bolts and nuts are supposed to be snug.

      It’s about 85% for curls and about 90% for extensions. Not the worst in the world, this is still the better option than rack mounted stuff. But yea I think the lionscool is better in the rom department.
