Gamma Rayburst thanks! Yeah, I thought they might be, and I can usually tell pretty easily, but this one was a little tougher to tell. You’re probably right
This knife is bad ass when you put a after market deep carry clip on it and new scales from sharp dressed knives. There artic carbon scales are unbelievable and improved by removing the ugly speed holes along with nice edge breaks all around making this knife look and feel much better. It makes it feel not so blocky and looks so good. The only down side is those scales are 130 + 35 for a matching deep carry ti clip that brings this knife to about 340 before any tax and shipping. But those scales are DEFINITELY worth it. Also remove the second detent ball and the small spring under that ball and you will have the ultimate spyderco knife. This will make the knife drop shut for the ultimate fidget knife.
I'm a union electrician so I use a knife daily for stripping big wire, opening boxes, cutting rope, etc. And I bought this knife about a year ago, and it's been my favorite edc knife I've ever had aside from my protech brend 3. I've carried benchmade, protech, microtech, higher end kershaw's and many other brands, but I've always been wary of Spyderco. I have always thought that their knives look cheesy or gimmicky, and I always prefer to buy American made to support American labor. So it's always kinda rubbed me wrong that they outsource some of their knives. But for some reason I pulled the trigger on the Smock, and I do not regret it one bit and may even be enough to buy another Spyderco in the future. To me, it's close to perfect. The only things I'd change is the lanyard hole, the pocket clip, and factory it was made in!
I'm on the other way around. Offer me the best product at the best price. The Taiwan Factory actually has better build and slightly better finish than the Golden Colorado Factory while being comparatively cheaper. CAPITALISM FUCK YA. I own Spyderco Knives from Golden Colorado Factory, seki City Japan, Taichung, Taiwan.

The ergonomics are definitely awkward not necessarily bad it's more or less ok..... definitely not manix 2 ergonomics.
Great video man. Think the handles are g-10 that looks like cf. laminate not real. Pretty sure.
Gamma Rayburst thanks! Yeah, I thought they might be, and I can usually tell pretty easily, but this one was a little tougher to tell. You’re probably right
Which do you prefer? I cannot decide which I want first. The kapara or smock.
Kapara all day long. It’s not even a contest for me, personally.
I own both but carry the Smock or Shaman.
What angle did you sharpen your Smock?
Mick Keim I sharpened it to 17 degrees per side, I think
Just don't see where this knife is 175 dollars its not even real carbon fiber and the pocket clip isn't titanium.
if thats thin behind the edge I'm the queen of england. is's vastly overbuilt (for dummies) like every other edc bro knife.
