    This was a really helpful comparison from someone who had both. I think that your advice about the shaking of the draw during cooking was well made and certainly has made me think about things a bit more. On balance I think I will go with the FlexDrawer and keep a spatula handy.

      I've got the one draw. I love it. I can get at least a 3 kilo leg of lamb in it. The divider turns it into a dual zone. As for chips a silcone liner that has holes in the bottom you can simply lift it out and get chips out that way.

    • @Julesybabes70
      @Julesybabes70 4 месяца назад +2

      Agreed. This would give you the option of the best of both worlds. Use it as one, large, contiguous space for a roast, or split into 2 separate, and individually removable cooking zones.
      I imagine that the small differences in the product sizes means that you cannot efficiently put the dual drawers into the flexdrawer and have the thing work perfectly.
      Did you try this by any chance?

    We are both retired and delighted with our AF400 dual zone as it's also well capable of cooking a 2lb chicken in a single drawer which serves four.
    So simple to use like an oven, but instantly ready to cook. Even our teenage grandchildren can use it safely.
    One hint is to leave a large trivet in front of it to save you inadvertently resting the "Hot" drawers on your worktop.

    They should make one machine that is compatible with the one large drawer and the two smaller ones. Then you could buy the additional drawers as required. There should also be an internal basket option with clip on handle so you can lift it out to shake or serve chips etc. Having to fish out small items with tongs is a right faff.

    We bought the dual zone just weeks before the Flexi was launched, so we were lucky enough to be able to buy and try the Flexi and return the dual zone. However, it was the flexi that was returned when we discovered, just like you, it was a massive, unwieldy, heavy basket. Ideally, I guess you would have both, but then, as others have pointed out, for larger meals, just use your conventional oven.

Amazon employees have said they have to damage the products beyond repair before throwing them in skips.
      Also most people order online from warehouses these days not the shops. Plus it costs money for people to verify the product is still working fine, undamaged, replace any damaged/missing packaging from when it was opened etc. they don’t just have all that lying around in the shops
      Suppliers just produce absolutely loads of the item and expect a portion to be wasted. Capitalism and mass production, extremely wasteful

    very good review, bigger drawer kind of kills the point of air fryer in my opinion, smaller area of airfryers heats and cooks food quickly saving you time and money but if you need to roast a turkey or big chicken for bigger family than you might as well use the oven below your cooker that you already have and use two shelves to do veg,potatoes etc at the same time , which works out same in time and cost of energy

    ❗ Why are you dumping out your fries, or any food from the baskets? The whole idea of air fryers is less oil and grease in our foods. By dumping the food out, you're adding the grease that drained off back onto your food! Just use a nice pair of silicon tongs or turner to remove your food. It doesn't take that long to remove your food.

    What size of chicken (lb's / kg) can you put in one draw of the 2 draw ? PLus what is the weight of the chicken in the video to get some idea of scale ?

    • @fulloffood
      @fulloffood  6 месяцев назад

      You can but only a small one as you dont want it to touch the sides very much. The one in the video is roughly 2kg

    Great tutorial, I am seriously thinking of buying the flex draw 10.4, l have watched other tutorials and they stated that the counter did not stop when you took out the drawer. I would like to know if this is an issue please. Many Thanks Jane ps thank you for warning me off the stack, I nearly bought it, although, I did watch a few other UK people who sent theirs back, but I watch you first. Always good to get second opinions. x

      I think you could get away with the dual zone but if you eat large meals could go safe and Flexdrawer, but I’d say Dual zone may be the one 👍🏻

    Im at this crossroad now wondering which one to go for. I have 4 boys and if i cook chips i usually use nearly a whole bag of chips (1kg). Would it even cook that many at once as iv seen people put a handful in and cook only that much. Also i doubt i can cook anything else with the chips? Thanks

      The flex could handle a whole bag as long as you keep an eye on it a shake it

    From what a friend told me who had the dual then sold it when he got the flex… the flex tray isn’t as high as the dual trays. So if height is something that you need, the dual is the better of the two even though the flex holds more capacity… it’s not as high.

      Hello. The baskets in the flex and dual are identical in height. I’ve measured them at 14cm internal height. HTH

    Just use silicon baskets for the flex when cooking separate things as it will make it easy to shake, taking things out and cleaning up would be just the baskets. Work smarter not harder

    Can anyone tell me what material the basket is made of? It is safe, nontoxic transfer? Also does it grill?

      It's steel so safe to lights some charcoal and put the crisper plates on top.

    Wow amazing review, thank you for that. Because the sizes of the baskets seems to be very identical, i am wondering if you can put the small baskets into the new Ninja. Did you try that?

      Unfortunately I haven’t tried as I’ve sent my ninja stack back but I think you are spot on, they are similar sizes. Great shout!

    I think you should use oven dishes when cooking separate dishes to avoid needing to clean the basket

    • @fulloffood
      @fulloffood  4 месяца назад

      You can definitely do that, but it does cut down on the space, and you need to clean them. We sometimes use the silicone baskets that have handles.

    I don’t own either but I understand that there are independent timers for each drawer on the dual zone. That to me is actually the biggest plus for the dual zone and seemingly you chose not to mention it🤔

      It’s exactly the same as the flexdrawer, there’s no difference to mention. 👍🏻
