When this remarkable program was first aired back in the early '60s, while I had a crush on Patty Duke, my father was continually remarking on how beautiful Jean Byron was. Patty Duke was such an outstanding versatile actress, an authentic child prodigy.
yeah, you know you're getting old when Mrs. Cleaver, Patty"s Mother and Lovie start looking hot to you....not to mention Dennis the Menace's Mother,,,,now she was a real hottie.....
When I was a boy in the '60s, we lived in a farmhouse with no electricity; which seemed normal to me, but when we moved to the city, it was like another world to have electricity!
This might be my favorite episode, but they're all good. What a talented bunch of actors, and the writers were excellent. Back when programs were good. ♥️

What a lesson in gratitude for what you already have. Someone wrote on here that season three does not have the same feel as the first two. I would disagree.
and you're definitely the smartest on here.. Of course the song is produced for the show but if a company claims the song is theirs (and it isn't mine!!) i can only delete the claim by deleting the song.
Now this is embarrassing-- WHY did they do that ridiculous 'same actor playing a different character' bit which is almost as bad as the evil twin routine. I guess they thought people were pretty stupid. Patty carried off the dual role quite well but that's rare.

Very cool!
I’ve never seen this show in my life. It’s a gem. Don’t know why it was never shown on 70s TV like My Three Sons, Bewitched, Jeanne, etc.

William Schallert proved he could play a second character as well as Patty.
This is the third character he played on the show. In the first season, he played Kenneth Lane (Martin's twin brother/Cathy's father).
