  • This video is going to be my honest review/opinion of the classic Fjallravem kanken for college. This isn’t very technical, more just from my perspective as a student and my experience with the bag. I got it 4 years ago in my first year of college and I used it for my first and second year as well as on and off for the past couple years. Hope you enjoy or find this helpful :)

    I'm pretty sure the side pockets are meant to hold umbrellas, hence why water bottles struggle to fit! :)

    I have the 15” laptop version and it’s pretty good aside from the lack of organisation. I’d definitely recommend it over the classic, but I do intend on getting the 15” laptop kanken no 2 in all black as it has a more professional and sleek look while having the design I want. I do plan on getting the kanken water bottle pocket and organiser with it though

    i actually heard that those “water bottle pockets” are umbrella pockets. but they have this add on for a water bottle. it’s like an insert. i might get but it looks good.

    I like the standard style with these bags but I agree the logo suuucks. Pretty much all the non normal Kanken bags come with a stitched logo that look much better which is kinda upsetting. The classic styles logo just ruins every color combination unless you get red or white

    I'm really debating on if I should get it or not. The backpack is so cute and my style. But the issue is, as you said the straps would get very uncomfortable if you carry a lot of things. And also that it's not really organized *sigh*. The whole point with a backpack for me is that you can carry a lot of stuff without worrying that the straps would make you uncomfortable let alone being organized ://

    • @mckennaalara
      @mckennaalara  2 года назад +6

      Yes I have the same thoughts!! I bought this because everyone was saying they were durable but I wish someone had told me how uncomfortable the straps are 🙃 I actually have another one but the laptop version and I find it’s wayyy more comfortable bc the straps are more padded and it comes with its own laptop compartment. It is more expensive tho🥲

      @@mckennaalara I've also thought about maybe getting the bigger kånken but I'm afraid that it will look too big on me (I'm 157 cm/5'2.) Also how waterproof is the bag? I've heard that it doesn't tolerate heavy rain

    • @mckennaalara
      @mckennaalara  2 года назад +1

      @@auroraa4690 I think you would be okay because I think it is a bit smaller than other bags in the market 😊And I haven't been in a situation where I am outside in heavy rain for long periods of time but it has handled well in rainy situations since it is a bit water resistant! It's not completely water proof though so thats important to consider😅

      I've got one and I'd say if you want something that looks good, is if good quality and light weight on the shoulders then I would say go for it. If you need organization pockets rather get doughnut macaroon.

      If you can’t afford a new one, then second hand is great. Would recommend trying to get a 15” laptop kanken or even the 13” laptop kanken if you don’t already own one as you have an extra compartment for your tablet, laptop or even loose sheets/extra notebooks and they have built in padding on the shoulder straps

    There are many fake Kankens out there. You can recognize any fake ones by the logo. As far as I know, the circle needs to be attached to the 'a' of Kanken.
