It's one of the few times I think a live performance was way better than the studio version Spotify lately. That scream he did is missing from that version. It was absolutely amazing to hear live and I prefer this more.

As a person who admitted to not watching any Arcane, you couldn't be more wrong. Of course, there is base emotion in all music, even for Nickleback. But the experience of watching Arcane and then seeing how these songs relate takes the emotion next level simply bc your concious of so much more. I actually tear up during the first song(Wasteland) of this performance bc thats Jinxs "death" song. @PapiSnaz
Twenty One Pilots was the perfect closer of these Arcane performances, these artists put a sentimental emotion on this award show, it's simply amazing how it worked, one of my favorite performances of the year
Knowing that The Line was written after Tyler witnessed his grandmother's death firsthand really changes the meaning of "if I cross the line". It's not crossing the line with the decisions you make, it's crossing the line between life and death. It's the message of someone who knows they are dying and moving on and what they want to tell and ask their loved ones. When paired with the words "keep the memories of who I was before", it ties in well with the show for those who know, but also represents the thought of someone on their deathbed, with their life seeping from them, they must not want the ones they love to remember them like that. Instead, they would want them to remember when they made them laugh and filled with warmth. It's a heartbreakingly beautiful song.
Special note: I don't know how Tyler can perform this song, if it were me I would be bawling every time I sang this with how close it is to home. Insane composure to match, his vocals weren't compromised whatsoever

Indeed. For me, it's very rare for a pop/rock singer to hit the high notes so perfectly throughout the entire song at a live concert. For me, that's somehow much more important than the scream.

Kind of a little disappointed in some ways, I felt like this was a little rush compared to when they did Imagine Dragons and Sting previously. I think they could have had a longer segment and even included Freya Ridings ‘I can’t hear it now’, especially as it’s the year they are concluding Arcane

Another perspective is that twenty one pilots song was also written for Tyler's grandmother who passed away. And it hits different when you know it.
