yes the Baccano light novels have the modern day arc which crosses of with Durarara in Tokyo and the 1700s arc and the anime only adapted the beginning of the 1930s arc the anime only did the first few novels and there are 21 in all Durarara got a second season and it went threw all the 13 novel and nows to hoping the sequel Durarara SH gets an anime but any series in that world would make a good anime Vamp! Etsusa Bridge Baccano! Durarara Yozakura Quartet seeing the second season of Durarara added new references to Vamp! in the form of Shingen talking about Nebula and mentioning an "elderly video game-obsessed loli" and a "beautiful hungry-type werewolf girl." These are references to Romy Mars and Watson respectively Germany, Vampires, finally getting it in the anime that Ruri Hijiribe and Kasane Kujiragi's are part vampire, and maybe QAWSED "Hackey Mouse" but seeing they left Tsukumoya Shinichi who is an important character in Durarara who basically does everything from the background like give Izaya info, give Mikado the people in the Dollars to purge and deletes the Dollars site after the end they might just leave all characters who only exist on the web as part of a race of beings who live in digital form out
Watched Baccano recently... So fucking good. We need to get another series or just as good, have a Issac and Miria series. One of the best couple not only in anime but in entertainment.
My favorite thing about Baccano is how there's a Japan only DS visual novel game with multiple endings: one of them where Ladd and Claire can get married. I'm just there's a parallel universe where that awkward situation is a thing.
There's also a major bad ending where Ladd manages to knock Claire off the train with him when he goes to rescue Lua. Bad things happen all around: Everyone dies; Chane disappears; Rachel dies from her wounds after beating the shit out of Turner (light novel character cut from the anime); Czes devours Isaac which breaks his mind and also leaves Miria heartbroken and devastated not knowing where her partner disappeared to; and worst of all, Claire is late to his reunion with the Gandors!
The anime itself is amazing but the light novels are even better and I'd say just as, if not more, enjoyable. There's so much more that can be adapted, though they'd have to probably redo the arcs the anime already covered do to some major abridging. I particularly want to see the 2002 Entrance/Exit arc as a potential new season since it's both a reenactment of the 1932 Flying Pussyfoot incident and a major turning point in the overall story that reveals the main villain. In fact, someone has already outlined ideas for a 13 episode season combining 2002 with the 1705/1710 Mask Maker arc that has a similar anachronistic style to the anime.
One of the finest animes of the century along with Cowboy Bebop. I await the day a new adaptation or a continuation would commence since Durarara is done.
Another fun fact. All four of Narita's works (Baccano, Durarara, Hariyama-sama and Vamp) all take place in the same world. Baccano's Claire Stanfeld is, as stated by Narita, one of the five most powerful characters in this universe, alongside Durarara's Shizuo Heiwajima and Baccano's Ronny Schiatto. They're all equal in strength. The two stronger than them are, from Vamp, Hawking and, from Haryiama-Sama, No.37564 "Mob Combatant"
Kitty2Kat I want a three way dual between Claire, Shizuo, and Ronnie. Also, I love how all three of them represent three different types of strength. Shizuo is all natural, since his body doesn't restrict his natural strength as other humans bodies do. Claire is strength through training. All of his power comes from nothing but pure hard work and training. And Ronnie is representative of supernatural strength, being a demon and all.
I'm pretty sure the comment is more casual than fact; Ronnie's feats in the light novels proves that he is much more powerful than Shizuo and Claire/Vino. Ronnie has manipulated the weather, demonstrated multiple times his ability to teleport and his omniscience. In a short story released for Baccano several years ago that outlined his backstory (called "Notorious Beginning" or some equivalent), he was even stated to be able to destroy the universe (but doesn't do it because it's "pointless"). It's pretty believable to say that Shizuo and Claire are on equal terms. I see this "fact" being thrown around pretty often but I'm sure it isn't the case if Ronnie was being Serious about it. (Another perfect homunculus-like character similar to Ronnie was also introduced only a couple years ago in the light novels called Rosetta, who presumably would also surpass Claire/Shizuo in terms of power--she has some level of time manipulation, it seems.)
so does Ronnie. He selectively Za Warudo'd the fight in the middle of The Slash so he and Jacuzzi could talk in private about his gang trespassing on Martillo turf and what they were going to do about it. He even offered the ability to Stop Time at will as one of the hypothetical "wishes" Elmer could've asked for.
Since Durara had like 3 seasons, I don't see why not. Also since Studio shuka is now a standalone studio, they might also do it because they are also currently working on 91 days which also takes place during the prohibition era of the U.S
"Did you know that the italian word Baccano can be translated as commotion, din, ruckus or rumpus?" Sure cause i'm italian :D, always fun to hear americans trying to speak italian words, they miss every accent they can xd
Protoman I would love a second season if it continued where the light novels go and if they interact with the events of Durarara some more. But I'm actually quite happy with how the anime ended, I would truly be alright if there was no second season. But I'm so excited for the rest of the light novels!!! XD
The day Baccano gets a season 2 is the day manly tears are shed.
Same here.
For the moment, 91 Days is a good temporary replacement until Shuka can get the funds to make a Season 2.
is there even a need for season 2?
yes the Baccano light novels have the modern day arc which crosses of with Durarara in Tokyo and the 1700s arc and the anime only adapted the beginning of the 1930s arc

Vamp!
Etsusa Bridge
Baccano!
Durarara
Yozakura Quartet
seeing the second season of Durarara added new references to Vamp! in the form of Shingen talking about Nebula and mentioning an "elderly video game-obsessed loli" and a "beautiful hungry-type werewolf girl." These are references to Romy Mars and Watson respectively

Getting another season is pretty unlikely at this point. It's been nearly 10 years and the Baccano anime didn't do very well in Japan.
The casting info is pretty cool. Also, the dub is fantastic.
I loved the narration in this one!
same
This guy's voice is cool.
I agree
Miria: Hey Isaac, I have a question....
Isaac: Then watch this episode of DYKA, Miria my dear!!
So much love, research, and dedication was given to the creation of Baccano. No wonder it was so good!!
Watched Baccano recently... So fucking good. We need to get another series or just as good, have a Issac and Miria series. One of the best couple not only in anime but in entertainment.
They make a cameo appearence in Durarara!!, which is cool.
If only it got a second season or if only the Baccano light novels could actually be translated. I want to know so much more about that universe.
Yen Press just recently started releasing them! I just got the first one, and it's pretty awesome. ^^
+wwwwhhhhoooo Oh my god, you have no idea just how happy this makes me. I'm definitely going to be buying the entire series in hardback. :D
The manga is still going, so they should adapt the other volumes

This is why baccano is the best!
XxxStoner420BongMasterxxX is not the hero we asked for, but rather the one we deserve.
It cracks me up every time

V. M. WAAAAAAAAT? I didn't knew that!
What happened with Lua in that scenario?
There's also a major bad ending where Ladd manages to knock Claire off the train with him when he goes to rescue Lua.

The info was neat but I like this video so much because of JelloApocalypse's voice for it, it really enhances the experience :)
Excellent video, and voice!
Awesome video!! Also you guys should get in contact with Mumkey Jones, hes got a beauty of a voicebox
This was really cool. Subbed.
Jesus this guy has a good voice for Baccano abridged.
One of the finest animes of the century along with Cowboy Bebop. I await the day a new adaptation or a continuation would commence since Durarara is done.
Cowboy Bebop is from the 20th century
Now this is a surprise!
Baccano baby! This anime is awesome, and I would love to have more of it.

Hmm, Baccano sounds like a good anime. Is it somewhat similar to Cowboy Bebop? I just finished that one and loved it.
In my opinion they're pretty different, but...they're both great, and they both have really good English dubs!
Ehh, kinda. They're both really stylistic if that's what you mean.
I love it!
HOLY CRAP why are the bluray sets so insanely expensive?! Almost 200 dollars... I really wanna own it though
Did ya'll do Durarara!! yet?? ;)
Was the abridged stricken down for copyright? because I can't find it anywhere, and that's what the link led me to.

Since Durara had like 3 seasons, I don't see why not. Also since Studio shuka is now a standalone studio, they might also do it because they are also currently working on 91 days which also takes place during the prohibition era of the U.S

WELCOME TO 1930s AMERICA!
And 1400's America. And 2001 America.
I don't like the premise or setting. Everything in America before World War 2 is just unappealing on an aesthetic level.
Yes! My favourite anime!
Anyone else excited for the English releases of the light novels! I know I am XD
If it gets us a second season. Yes.
Protoman
I would love a second season if it continued where the light novels go and if they interact with the events of Durarara some more.
But I'm actually quite happy with how the anime ended, I would truly be alright if there was no second season.
