All you need to come to Australia is a sense of humour a sense of fair play and a good work ethic , it doesn't hurt to have a taste for beer and prawns and love cricket . Oh and be extremely good looking so you'll fit in with the rest of us .
Great entertainment, thank you. I am born in SEQ, and in my 70+yrs have had maybe 6 encounters with snakes.... As a city dweller they are not an issue...as Ben said, stay still and even the more venomous ones will move on..most bites happen a) by accident when people happen to step on them, say by stepping over a log and the snake just happens to be sunning on the unseen side or 2) when inexperienced people try to pick them up, move them or otherwise make the snake feel "unsafe" and therefore need to protect themselves. Spiders? There is no spider that either a size 9 shoe deftly applied or a can of insecticide cannot fix!!! Mountains or Ocean? Personal choice.. Australia is the flattest continent so the term mountain is questionable..high hills, except Kosciusko at 7000+ ft, but still...high hills do offer a reduction in temperature in most instances...Toowoomba is a prime example..as you said just about and hour and a half west of Brisbane, its elevation makes it more temperate and flora that requires cooler conditions, thrive there. It is also a booming economy at the moment...it is the gateway to the western Darling Downs and is a vibrant big country town. Pleased to see you both relaxed and well. Rich.
Ben if you go bush ,. join a four wheel drive club,. it can be dangerous, always go with 3 or 4 other four wheel drive cars. its something to you can do for the rest of your life. you two are putting weight on.. cheers mate. keep it up love your vids.
In the UK, wraparound means full time, morning to evening nursery care provision. I think it's probably provided in most towns. But idk about costs or funding provided. For asn, Australia is generally inclusive and cities accesible and some national parks paths are accesible. But idk from personal experience having a child in the Australian school system for how inclusive it is.
I love/prefer the mountains as well! The ocean is beautiful to look at, but I am with Ben on this one...if I can get to the water without getting one speck of sand(Yuck!) on me, especially my feet, I'd like it more. (:
Bens a man after my own heart walking is for pedestrians lol😂😂 Ok what's with the t-shirt and where do I get one. It's really good to see you and the girls (in the background) all ok and having fun together . All the best from down south (Lake Macquarie)
Aww pretty python, I’d pat it 😂 I live in North Brisbane & have only seen about 4 wild snakes in my entire life. I moved here from Victoria many years ago, I much prefer the heat to the cold any day ☀️
Hey guys! Hope this helps, in the UK we class wrap around childcare as like before and after school childcare, like if you needed to start work before they started school you’d drop them off etc. this would be a massive help to know as a family looking to come to Aus from the UK 😊
Perth and Adelaide are best value for money houses atm - All across Australia has increased, but not as much in WA or SA....WOW Ben, I'm impressed, if my ex husband saw a snake in the shed or garden (Swan Valley WA / grape vines / acreage / horse studs area, so was a regular thing with the dugites and tiger snakes ) he would just stand still (always had steel caps on) and scream for me. I was up in the hills horse riding with one of my kids once, and he stood there for almost 2 hrs waiting for me to come rescue him with the rake. Snake wasn't even moving, was just laying on the gravel in the sun. He was terrified of them attacking if he moved, so a statue he became lmao 🤣🤣🤣...Oh yeah, and he was also a pomme, who's rant every time was "No snakes in England ya know, this is an Aussie snake so an Aussie better deal with it, and i'll just wait here ok". He was so brave-----NOT lol
@@TheBAMFamalam I think it's great that Ben is handling it well. Being able to handle the maintenance, upkeep and Aussie native animals, that come with acreage in Aus, isn't something that a lot of pomme immigrants do handle well, so huge pat on the back for you Ben....Maz, I bet there's other things that you've handled just as well, we all can't be good at everything hon, and not everyone can even accomplish as much as you have either. Knowingly moving to a part of Aus that is well known for it's vast array of wildlife, isn't a choice a lot of pomme women make, most are lucky to even want to go walking in the bush, let alone live there lol, so see, you're braver than you think xox
Your children will become Australian..like me ..and l can't think of anything that l would go to England for ..they will become like this and England will be just a distant land...
Hi great content -we have just come back from 3 weeks in Brisbane -drove most of the coastline in the sunshine coast as we are also looking at moving from NZ.Where about are you guys ?We liked cotton tree and of course Mooloolaba but yes of course near the beach is next level expensive.
Ben & Maz. Coming from a country with temperate climate, was Tasmania on your initial list of where to settle? Property prices would be lower compared to Queensland.
I worked with an Irishman in Brisbane, he said to me that he went to Melbourne initially and then moved to Brisbane, his thoughts were if he wanted a cold wet temperate climate he could have stayed in Ireland, he wanted some sunshine, other Europeans I've met in QLD have had similar sentiments.
We had every childhood holiday at the beach so the sand for me is part of those memories.. though sand in your shoes is not the best! I have lived in Brisbane most of my life and you do become climatized to the heat to a certain degree … but ….not always very comfortable and snakes are looking for food or prey so also be aware of that …and pythons CAN bite …apart from that I have only seen 3 snakes when I lived near bushland and none where I live now in a townhouse development so I dont think snakes will make it to the 20th level of an apartment block though a spider might sneak in the lift😂😮
Snakes are only a real issue if you live in a more rural area. Im 65 Aussie born and bred and I’ve only seen a snake in the wild once and it was a baby, like a big worm.
Yeah that's the problem python's are well know to be into drum and bass. 😜 If you put on classical then you'd know it would leave as who likes classical. 😂
Beach sand. I am going to let my Aussie girl see this about the beach sand. She thinks I am the only one that don't like it. I wear my work boots when we go to the beach. She asked me to walk behind her...LOL She comes from Sydney but was born in a town called Eden... Southern guy from USA and Aussie girl... Our kids may chew tobacco

My fondest memory is the hot summers walking around in bare feet. Getting across the road was a new adventure in pain!
Until you make it to the white strips.
Lol, Whinging about the Heat and sitting outside in the Hot sun, hehehe, typical poms😄
Hey, they were at the beach!!!
Haha we thought we’d call it before someone else did 🤣🤣❤️

We’re so glad you enjoyed, thank you 🥰 And thank you for the great info about Toowoomba xx
Love the content you guys crack me up 🤣 the drum bass thing with the snake 🐍.
Haha there’s never a dull moment here 🤣
Yeah, I’m mountains for sure. Welcome to Australia!
This is definitely the most useful video, but I am in hysterics thinking about you raving to drum and bass with a snake whilst panicking 😂
Snakes don't use elevators, haven't you heard of Snakes and Ladders.😏
ROFLMAO - Thanks for the giggle, I needed that 😂😂
Hahaha you’ve made our day with this comment 🤣🤣

Now you need to explore the great game of backyard cricket on Christmas Day.

Great video! I like the mountains better also. I grew up in a valley surrounded my mountains so when I go somewhere with no mountains I feel insecure.
I love/prefer the mountains as well! The ocean is beautiful to look at, but I am with Ben on this one...if I can get to the water without getting one speck of sand(Yuck!) on me, especially my feet, I'd like it more. (:
Plenty of places you can go to the water without sand..... how do you feel about mangrove mud 🤣🤣🤣

Haha I actually made these for us - I have got a frame made up though, so you never know, we may get more made! 😁❤️
@@TheBAMFamalam Good I want to put my order in now for 2
Well talking about the heat ..we have only had 2 days at 30 degrees in last 8 months ...in Melbourne..England is hoter..
It has been a much cooler year than usual here too ❤️
Aww pretty python, I’d pat it 😂 I live in North Brisbane & have only seen about 4 wild snakes in my entire life. I moved here from Victoria many years ago, I much prefer the heat to the cold any day ☀️
i google 'wrap around childcare - i think it means childcare before and after school
Now I'm curious. What is Chef Ben usually cooking up for the holidays?

Ben’s been doing really well on this property, I’ve got to say, I’ve not been quite so brave 🤣🐍

the trouble is its not all of Australia, you are only a small part. you are in the top end seems a lot of uk people go here my cousin included.
It takes a few years for the novelty of the heat to wear off 😆
The top end is over 2 days drive away from the where they are on the Sunshine Coast 😀 It’s even hotter and much more humid up there.
Easy Coast= mountains one side & ocean the other….everyone’s happy😀

Nice python at the end. So cute. Totally harmless.
Would you prefer pebbles instead of sand Ben?? Beach without sand is SAD....Great vid as always!

You could of just picked that python up and put it in a big bag. I'd be careful but with your small dogs knowing you had a python to visit.
I think snakes would not like opera
You do realize people work outside right?,I keep your internet going ,your first point is stupid to me ,enjoy your indoor .
