    I think this is the best video I’ve ever seen about bind offs. I use Turning edges, and never knew I had to do those first!!!! This would explain a lot of error bind offs i have dealt with.

      Thank you!! I’m so glad it helps you! I messed up the first blanket I ever did… I had used a bind off everyone told me too… it involved moving loops… it was a mess! I searched bind offs and this one worked the absolute best especially for blankets! I use this method for all my flat panel projects as well as socks!! ❤🥰 Happy New Year!

    Thank you. I am about to finish my blanket and wanted to make sure I find bind off that will work. This one is a lot like one I previously used: called stretchy bind off, but is a bit different. Gonna give yours a try :) . Which cast on did you use, if it's ok to ask? I used row of e wrap row of u knit, but this is gonna be my blanket for myself so I don't care if cast on and bind off really match.

    • @lschue
      @lschue  Месяц назад

      Your Welcome! I always use a chain cast on followed by 1 row of uknit to help keep the cast on snug and not sloppy looking. Your first row in your pattern may be alittle tighter than normal but will be fine on the 2nd row. You can also find my video on “garter stitch borders” that one will show you the cast on and how I do it. Very easy!

    • @lschue
      @lschue  Месяц назад +1

      The biggest difference in my bind off… I do not remove any loops until I’m completely done the bind off!!!

    • @ByBara
      @ByBara Месяц назад +1

      @@lschue Oooh thank you. Yeah, if I remember right, the one I used had yarn go behind peg and yours go in front. I see in video it once went behind peg by accident, unsure how much of an difference it really makes. Well anyway, I followed your video and blanket turned out fine. Thanks.

    • @ByBara
      @ByBara Месяц назад +1

      @@lschue Oooh got it. Well I tend to stick to simplest things so chain cast on that I have done once was pretty demanding so I kinda stopped doing it. But in case I get to be making something for somebody else might follow your advice and do it like it instead :) .

    • @lschue
      @lschue  Месяц назад

    When I bind off for a flat panel blanket the end I binded off is very narrow and the ends are pocketing will this make it be the same length and size as the end I casted on ?

    • @lschue

      Absolutely! Do not remove any loops till your all the way done your bind off… I have another video on this same bind off.. check that one out as well before you get started. Remember to take your time and try not to be interrupted. ruclips.net/video/fAWeWqpIELY/видео.html

    Thank you Laurie! Any tips for how to keep chenille (like premier parfait) yarn intact during this process? I've had so much trouble binding off a blanket with this yarn - by the middle of the bind off, the yarn weakens, shreds and sometimes breaks :(

    • @lschue
      @lschue  3 года назад +1

      I know exactly what you mean!! 🥰 I’ve been there too. 😖 I made 2 beautiful blankets with Premier Parfait and got thru the agonizing bind off (like you described) only to have both blankets “worm” after washing. (Google Yarn Worming) It was so bad, I couldn’t even gift them. They are now being used to wrap up dolls and bears by my grandkids. No, I do not have any tips to bind off that type of yarn on looms with lots of pegs. The 10 stitch would probably be ok. But as for me, I will never use that yarn again…ever! I also will never use velvets. Homespun by Lion Brand is another headache. I did get thru a bind off with Homespun but you must use an even longer tail because the ends constantly fray and you need to keep trimming them off. I do not have any issues with Bernat Blanket Yarns or worsted weight yarns. Sorry I can’t give tips for you!

      @@lschue oh my gosh! I didn't even mention my Homespun fiasco! OK well, at least it's not just me - I'll save what I have left of those yarns for other projects! Thanks so much for the reply!

    My bind off is always too tight why is this?

    • @lschue
      @lschue  Месяц назад

      If you’re using this bind off method it should not in any way be to tight. If it is… its because your removing loops before you complete the bind off. With this bind off, Never remove the loops till you are completely finished the bind off all the way around your project… no matter how many pegs your using.
