hello 6 years later ahah. it was originally supposed to be 26 episodes, so everyone’s individual story would’ve been fleshed out instead of it being quite rushed.. but they had to cut it down to 13. not entirely sure why but it’s a shame. anime is great regardless!!! just wish it was longer so we could find out about all the characters and not just the main couple
Hello people from all times. There is a Visual Novel that has been recently translated to English called Angel Beats! 1st beat. It goes through all the events of the anime, but you can make your own choices, and even influence the progression of the story. For example... you can stop Iwasawa from disappearing. Or you can learn about what Iwasawa thought of Yui. Why she made sure she came to the small gigs Yui was doing before any event. You also have the backstory of other characters in the anime, but this game is mostly focused on the band and aspects of the band. Also Matsushida, for some reason. Either way, even if you have never tried a Visual Novel before, you can at least give this one a try. I believe it's well worth it for fans of the anime.

Uhhh.. Yui is a perfectly fine singer. She adds a youthfulness and cheery tone to her songs, where Iwasawa adds maturity and a sense of serious passion behind everything she says. You can tell she pours her soul into her lyrics. They're both amazing singers, just different.
yui sounds more "pop", Sawashiro's (aka Masami) vocals have a better "rock" sound to them, and she can hit stronger notes then Kitamura Eri (the va/singer for yui) can.

Finally, I found a way around being able to listen to this song without getting too feels-y: just listen to the Yui version! Nothing against Masami of course, she has a beautiful voice. But as I found out when hearing it for the first time, it's possible to be too beautiful. And this isn't a knock on Yui either, I love her and her voicei. But Masami's really hits me hard.
I think the word you're looking for is bittersweet. :] It's sad in a way because the others might never see each other again, but also happy as they were able to move on and let go of their regrets. It's a perfect combination if you ask me.

Are you people serious ? Angel Beats was not sad . Sure the ending was a bit sad , because Otonashi was left alone and all that , but he helped all his friends pass on , and had fun in the meantime . Clannad made me tear up constantly. Clannad AFTER STORY made me ball my eyes out from a certain episode all the way to the end of the series. Angel Beats! is definitely sad, but its the kind of sad you saw coming from the gate basically. They just made it more difficult than it had to be in the last 5 minutes lol.

I don't even know why, but I had to turn off my laptop and stop watching it halfway cuz I was crying so much. My family probably thought wtf?! So I went to go cry in the bathroom and my god my chest hurt. Angel Beats had sad stories, and just by listening to their songs I get emotional. Maybe cuz I'm sensitive idk?
