Thank you for covering the samba password situation. I couldn't understand why samba wasn't using the user password, which it seemed like it was supposed to.

Thank you very much for the video!
It would be very much appreciated if you could show the Windows side of things!
In a nutshell, I want to move away from Windows - just cannot take it any more! One problem that I still need to solve, is how to move my data from the laptop (running Windows 10) to a mini-PC (running Linux Mint). I am planning to buy additional 2 Tb 2,5” SATA SSD for the data. I also have an Ethernet cable to connect two machines.
I was thinking of formatting the SSD drive using NTFS file system (should be readable on both Windows and Linux), and copying files from Windows laptop into the drive using an USB adaptor. The drive will be installed into the mini-PC. Then I was told that it is possible to copy files from one machine to another using SMB file sharing. I am wondering if I need a router to connect two machines.
Any bit of advice would be helpful! Thank you!

You shouldn't need to worry about any routing as long as both machines are on the same network. You can create a share on the Linux host and connect from the Windows machine so that you can copy the files over.
