    A complete class act. He helped to train the Warrior. By being the fall guy to the Warrior,he propelled UW’s career, and did what was best for the WWF. This attitude is definitely lacking today in the world today.

    • @Bounty_Hunter84

      . The championship was established by the then-World Wrestling Federation (WWF) on September 1, 1979, as a result of the WWF North American Heavyweight Championship being unified with an apocryphal South American Heavyweight Championship,[2] with Pat Patterson as the inaugural champion. It is the third-oldest championship currently active in WWE, behind the WWE Championship (1963) and United States Championship (1975), but the second-longest tenured championship, as WWE has only owned the U.S. championship since 2001. Although generally contested in the midcard at WWE shows, it has been defended in the main event of pay-per-views including WrestleMania VI, SummerSlam in 1992, the third and eighth In Your House shows, Backlash in 2001, and at Extreme Rules in 2018. It has been called a "stepping stone" to a WWE world championship.[3][4] Hope this helps

    I really don't care how anyone behind the scenes felt about the guy. As a kid the ultimate warrior was everything to me in the wwf. Before that it was hogan but damn warrior came along and took it to another level. It's all about the show/finished product at the end of the day and the guys bitter because they felt they deserved it more, well I was a fan of all of them but none of them popped or stood out like that. Warrior gets jabbed a lot, even after his death, (God rest his soul), but the one thing that no one can deny is that people wanted to see him, and he put people in the seats and sold tickets. If you can sell tickets, you have over half of the equation solved. In my honest opinion. Hell when I was a kid I went wild when I heard Warrior's music, and comparing that to the glass break of Stone Cold I think was dead on. There have been very few people that as soon as their music hits, people react the way they have to those 2 in particular. Just my opinion I could be wrong.

      @Aerojet01 5 лет назад +1

      Red Dogg - Rebel4Truth You can't rely solely on being a good worker to make it in this business. It was different for the Warrior (RIP), he was a flash in the pan. Yes, Austin had the personality. I agree, but making the stunner look convincing takes timing and ability. This is a guy who worked his way up the hard way from Chris Adams' school in the Dallas Sportatorium (working the local circuits) to WCW and eventually WWF/WWE. Just to reiterate, during his early years as a wrestler, Austin was good technically. However, after his neck injury against Owen Hart in 1997, he changed his style from technical to brawler, which is a well known fact. As for the Rock punch kicky? Bret Hart has rated him highly. This is coming from an outspoken man, who's a very harsh critic. Imbecile? You seriously don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Idiot.

    There were a few moments where HT held his tongue, rather than beat on Warrior. Total class.

    honky tonk took the words out of my mouth when he said it's like the glass breaking you know its stone cold that was the same with warrior, the minute you heard his music you know that was him.

      some themes really get in your head... the bell chime that started Taker's theme, Rock's 'if you smelllllll....' ; Edge's theme was also addictive, Orton's too (in a house show I saw Matt and Jeff singing out loud along Orton's theme when Orton approached the ring... and they were the opposing team!) ; LOD's 'oooooooh what a rushhhh!' at the start of their theme song was also very recognisable...

    Good to hear warrior not getting trashed by a fellow wrestler. It's entertainment and warrior entertained. He filled the stadiums. The crowds were never louder than when warrior ran out. If you complain about his wrestling skills or was stiff in the ring, go watch real wrestling in the ncaa or Olympics.

    He's right about the need to be good workers in the ring. Some of my fave wrestling memories was from the 70s and 80s of the legendary old NWA circuit. Lot of great characters, plots and story arcs, etc. Minnesota Wrecking Crew, man they were so good but I also hated them so much at times, haha. But that was part of the gimmick. So many times the pretty boy faces would have their dramatic buildups in the match, oh no, they got Arn or Gene or Olie vulnerable, the face is gonna do it, the face is gonna do it! The face just got blindsided and the wrecking crew continues to win! Arn talking post-match about how the best always reach down for that little bit extra and goes on to explain, in workman-like fashion, how the cream always rises to the top and the cream don't get no sweeter than in Minnesota!

    Everyone talks about the Warrior squashing HTM in seconds, but Warrior also squashed Andre the Giant in a quick match also.

      That's because Andre was in a lot of pain. His matches in the later years were meant to be short because he couldn't get through long matches

    Just listened to JR shooting on Warrior before this….. and I value Honky Tonk’s word so much more than JR. I love Honky Tonk, seems like such a good guy. Honest, hard working man who knows the industry inside and out and isn’t speaking while hiding behind an NDA. Plus he knows the biz in the good ole days.
