I know about Mr.Beast since some years ago and I never heard about this "Finger on the app" scandal. Also I bet many people who called him scammer for this were just frustrated because they lost, what would you expect from a mobile game? Even big budget AAA games from reknown studios have server issues every know and then. Another theory for the servers problem is that many of them could be using a VPN on their phones, many people has one nowadays, and the VPN server could drop the connection for a second, also the ISP could be the culprit, but the IP changing due to switching from WiFi to mobile is another good possible explanation though.
Sure for the 1st one, but for the 2nd one his team had to expect this issue arising because of all the backlash that happened with the first one. there was a definite disconnect that happened with inside the studio and where the blame lies is for interpretation

Good intentions, Insanely bad execution. This is a case where an experiment was shit and the challenge went horribly wrong to the point where they couldn't ignore it. There were 5 main issues with this. for 1, the MrBeast Games Department was constantly fanning the flames for Finger on the App 2, and everyone getting confused by the fact that MrBeast isn't the person behind the account getting pissed off and raging at them. 2) The MrBeast Games department was acting really fucking stupid because with all the backlash for the first Finger on the app, they needed to do it right, and adding micro transactions for getting more lives......need I say more? 3) The MrBeast team chopping the entire issue of why people didn't win was because of 'Artificial Time Travel' was a shitty way of doing things. The actual 4 people who won the 1st Finger of the App challenge could have easily have been fact checked by anyone on the team beforehand. but they didn't 4) the Finger on the App 2 was announced before the app was done, considering the issues of the first one, that was totally a good idea 5) this idea was a pretty shitty but enticing idea. the first Finger on the App seems to be an idea that should happen in order for the public at large to not try this shit again, but the 2nd idea was fucking awful and it should have never been done for a second time Was this MrBeasts Fault, I think not but he does hold some responsibility for the Finger on the App 2 because the first one was complete garbage, why do another one. Its possible they thought they could have fixed the issues with the first one, but this seems a bit too risky, especially when it was done so close together and they weren't done with the app yet.
