Eddie is a great guitarist in his own right. He has a unique "Eddie" kind of sound in his playing which seperates him from the Rest. Great job Matt👌🏼✌🏼🙏🏼
Thank you for showing the alternate angle that shows how many fingers you are using. I was thinking it might be a four finger picking pattern, but now I know it’s three.
Its the last 2 16th notes in the pattern that make it difficult (E to G in the case of the C shape). Play the open G with your first finger where you would play the fretted E. Then rest on the last 16th note. If you leave that beat out and rest, it’s immensely easier. It sounds very close as well. Just an option while learning it properly.
thanks man and good advice, tbh i put some of these out as note for note as I can but always best to leave out whatever you like, main thing is to enjoy playing it how you want! :-)
Not sure if you answer questions at all but do you have an idea how to get quicker? I've been doing this pattern a month and I'm at 80bpm. My first song I'm learning. Does it take some time to get to 108?
It's a tricky song tbh! I think it's PJs most difficult tune, especially if you're not a natural finger picker. Only way i got to play it quicker is to break it down into the sections where i can't play quickly (usually the transitions to different chords - for me anyway) and focus on them until you can play them quicker, then build it up from there
I've switched up the transition from C to G by doing what eddie does to hit the 1st string on the 5th. its not a hard stretch from C with the pinky. I find it harder to slide up and go back. I'll get it. Can't beat myself up. Last month I didn't know how to play anything. Cheers
@@jeffhayes4926 if you’re currently playing it at say 80bpm then I’d double it and count 8th notes rather than quarter notes then increments up from there
@@LetsPlayAll awesome, thanks for the reply. Wouldn't mind a lesson from you if you were in Canada. So I got a metronome app, it has 4 little balls that light up as well as the sound, assuming the dots are thumbs and ands are in between them? If that's correct I am at 170. I'm not sure how to count 8ths as of yet. Cheers bud.
This song is awesome, but I have a request. My favorite Pearl Jam song ever is better man, especially the live version, but I cant figure out mikes live solo. Any chance for a tutorial?
Steven G Nasar hey Steven, I’ve got a load of requests to work through at the mo so for really specific live stuff best to come join us at Patreon 🤘😊 I’ll get to them all eventually but may be a while!
Fantastic tutorial Matt. The wife and I chose this as our first dance song at our wedding. I'll learn this for our 8th anniversary next month 😊🎸
That's awesome Alex! Congrats on your anniversary, I hope your wife enjoys your rendition! :)
I have never had the patience to be a finger picker, but that was a nicely explained out how to
Yea it's a bit fiddly isn't it?! Thanks very much for the kind feedback :-)
I had learned the intro but will try all of it now. Such a lovely track to play. 👍
Awesome, it's a workout but i'm still working on it haha
Thank u for the lesson. I'll be back again and again. I like how you break the parts down and simplify it.
Thanks very much mate appreciate the feedback!
Spot on, on the name! Thanks mate - this is fantastic. And a proper workout.
Haha good stuff Vikram, glad you like it mate but mostly just pleased I pronounced a name correctly for once ;-)

Thanks Chris! Couldn't agree more mate, this for me is possibly PJs trickiest tune!
@@LetsPlayAll He also does this tricky thing at thumbing my way if im not wrong
Victor Oliveira yea that’s another great track, some unusual phrasing in that too

Sounds great Matt!
Cheers Chris!

Any suggestions on a strumming pattern for the one?

If that’s messy then my style would be a disaster! Great instruction!
haha thanks very much Donie!
Thanks, great lesson! Question, the tabnotations from the F chord seem not to respond with your playing?
Thanks Peter, sorry mate possibly haha where in the video?
At 10m50 you seem to play xx3211 in stead of xx3321 :-)
@@petervandedonk4492 Ah yep that's my bad the tabs wrong there it's an F chord xx3211 :-)

Hey Philipp thanks for the suggestion mate!
A great lesson
Thanks Daniele!

Faith Venus Blood Moon electro acoustic :-)
for the f section i believe he made a typo for those confused like me. the g string is fret 2 not 3 for the whole phrase.
Trex Arms cheers Trex will double check the tab on that!
Trex Arms yes that is indeed a typo sorry about that!
@@LetsPlayAll awesome videos by the way. Really makes learning songs easier and faster having the video plus the tab.
Trex Arms thanks man appreciate the kind words, glad you’re enjoying the channel!
