      @SeanStaxxMusic “Stolen lullabies”
      She considers her songs “her babies” because she writes all of her own songs. The sale of her masters was why Taylor said “I wrote them the first time, I can just re-write them”. She did. That’s why we now have “Taylor’s Versions” so Scooter Braun doesn’t make even a penny off of her. She made sure to tell all of her 200M fans about Taylor’s Version and we only listen to her versions. She didn’t go with grace. She fought back like the genius BOSS and successful entrepreneur that she is.

    This is about Scott Borchetta from Big Machine Records, she had been with him since she first started as a teen. She wanted to buy her music (6 albums), and Scott offered her that for every new album she made, she would get one old one back, essentially tying her to him for a long time. She said no deal and when her contract was up, she walked. Scott sold Big Machine Records with her music to Scooter Braun (song "Vigilante Sh!t"), whom Taylor detested, Scooter later bragged about owning Taylor Swift. The jewels Taylor gave Scott were the albums that went gold, platinum, and diamond. The stolen lullabies, her albums that were sold out from under her.

      @@TheMaleLewinsky013 Yeah, but she promoted it as being all fictional, because she was kinda tired of writing autobiographical songs (or at least tired of the media always trying to guess what/who her lyrics are about), so she said that folklore was inspired by other people and characters from movies and books. But actually, they were about her life too, both of these things can be true, it's ambiguous ✨

      "I didn't have it in myself to go with grace" - Red (State of Grace)
      "You're the hero flying around saving face" - Speak Now (Superman)
      "And if I'm dead to you why are you at the wake?" - Rep (old Taylor is dead)

    This actually ia about her former record label owner who sold her music to Scooter Braun. He was like a father figure to her. The stones she refers to were the songs she made, some to throw in the vault, some to become hits. And the jewels he wore while he buried her were the awards she won during that time. She is so good in using metephors.

    So it hasn’t officially been confirmed by anyone but I believe My Tears Ricochet is about her stolen lullabies and each line of the first chorus was taken from a song from each stolen album!!
    “i didn’t have it in myself to go with grace”- Red (State of Grace)
    “you’re the hero flying around saving face”- Speak Now (Superman)
    “and if I'm dead to you, why are you at the wake?”- rep (LWYMMD/old Taylor is dead)
    “cursing my name”- Fearless (The Way I Loved You)

    The lyrics are ambiguous and your analysis was great, but Taylor personally said that she wrote the song like a letter to her former record label owner, Scott Borcheta, and the lyrics "And when you can't sleep at night, you hear my stolen lullabies" - "stolen lullabies" refer to her music being "stolen" by this new guy Scooter Braun who bought the label because he wanted to own Taylor Swift's music and didn't give her a chance to even buy it, and they were her songs that she wrote herself, or co-wrote with a producer. She was devastated. But her "tears ricochet" because these guys' plans of selling/owning Taylor's music didn't work, because she had a better plan - to re-record it all and take it back into her hands. So that's what it's about, but it's written in a poetic way and open for interpretation of the listeners.

      and a part of that is that she owns copyrights to the songs --- and refuses to let the current owners use the music in ads or films; a big part of the value of the catalog. 💘 So all they got was radio and streaming income. Fans and radio use the TV's instead of the originals, and so Shamrock Holdings is suing Ithaca Holdings to reverse the sale.

Some movies did too. I saw a few commercials with her songs also. Good thing Taylor owned the publishing rights to her songs all along.

      And he built the label on her success. She was his first contract, his most successful artist. When she says “you wear the same jewels that I gave you as your bury me” she’s talking about the gold, platinum and diamond records she made that made him rich, which he was literally selling to make himself richer and trashing her while he did it. They had had a good relationship for 13 years, all of her teen and young adult life, and she felt deeply betrayed.

    I really need creators like this guy to do the research before they react to any Taylor Swift song, including my tears ricochet, because not every song of Taylor‘s is about an ex boyfriend or a past relationship. Taylor only has about 46 songs that are about an ex or past relationship in her whole entire catalog. This is about the betrayal that Taylor felt from her old label manager Scott Borchetta, selling Taylor‘s catalog not to her, but to Scooter Braun, who Taylor revealed in 2019 have been bullying her, using his clients Kanye & Justin Bieber, to bully her behind the scenes all these years. Taylor said that she & Scott Borchetta had “plenty of conversations about Scooter Braun, & any time the name Scooter Braun escaped her lips she was crying, so Scott Borchetta knew what he was doing to Taylor when he sold Taylor‘s masters to Scooter Braun, & not to her. Taylor signed to Scott Borchetta’s record label in 2006 and under big machine contract. She produced her first six albums herself title debut, aka Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), RED (2012), 1989 (2014), and reputation, (2017). When Taylor says “you wear the same jewels that I gave you as you bury me”, the jewels are her first 6 albums. Taylor felt this betrayal deeply, because Scott was like a father figure to her.

      I like it when newbies react blindly to the songs as they’re presented, it’s refreshing to see objective takes on these existing art pieces. Like all art, there is no one true meaning. What the observer sees and takes from their interaction with the piece, is their valid and worthwhile interpretation.
      Taylor doesn’t publish her songs just to have her literal inspiration be the only thing heard, but for everyone who listens to get and take from the songs what they will. Because so many people can find connections, her art speaks to an incredible variety of people, and has reach far outside her expected fan demographics.
