Honestly one of the sandwiches that'll always stick out to me (probably because the episode played so often) is the liverwurst and ice cream sandwich from the mummy episode.
I wonder if someone in Shaggy's past forcibly made him consume an ungodly amount of chocolate syrup and that's why he just coats everything he makes with it. 😆😂
I doubt that. This is more likely to be the result of being deprived in youth, not force-fed. That would more likely make someone hate the food in question.
@Wolfgalaxy I am well acquainted with the munchies, and I never made anything like that. He's different, with different ideas. He's also a fictional character, so this speculation is kinda moot.
I feel like that's the only plausible interpretation. Shaggy is quite possibly the most obvious stoner (who the writers can't outright confirm is stoned because it's a show for kids) ever.
Believe it or not they do in fact have foods they don’t like. When they were given Scottish food by Daphne’s cousin Shannon they didn’t want to touch it after asking what it had. I believe it was haggis. Heard it’s really good.
For those people wondering why Shaggy is able to consume all the disgusting things he does, there’s actually an episode in the original series where he talks about eating chocolate covered hotdogs at the beach, and when Velma gets grossed out and says “his stomach must be made of scrap-iron,” he answers “Can I help it that my first toy was a garbage disposal?” There’s also a Scooby Doo theory that claims the original series took place during the great depression, so let that sink in for a minute.
@bh5496 Maybe in the series the depression lasted longer? Who can say. Though it's possible he grew up at the tail end of the depression and was just used to food being strange
@@Zarastro54I think the theory is that the scooby universe has a different great depression, which is why so many episodes are people trying to ruin the value of properties to purchase for themselves
I actually liked how HB wrote a whole story about Shaggy becoming a vegetarian by explaining that he WAS gaining weight from his appetite but he decided to become a vegetarian to help lessen the calories given he still had a massive appetite. Granted, I don't know how much this has stuck given Shaggy and Scooby ate a shit ton of meat in The Witch's Ghost movie at the inn. And there's something so WHOLESOME about Scoob's favorite sandwich being something so simple. I can just imagine it being the first sandwich Shabby gave to him as a puppy and because of that it became his favorite.
His diet flip flops depending on who’s behind the current show. Some iterations will honor Casey’s original request for when he became vegetarian and some will revert back to him eating loads of meat. I don’t think Matthew Lillard as a voice actor was as concerned with the diet as Kasem was when he requested his character reflect his actual dietary change.

Thanks to Emily and Sparta for helping! Would not have been the same without them. Who was that mysterious uncredited helper that joined Sparta for a bit, though? I find it interesting that in the cartoon shot of the Jar Stretcher there are clearly sliced tomatoes prepared, but they're not as clearly shown or mentioned on the sandwich. If you have ham leftover and willing to try it, you can pad out the water by squeezing it between some towels, then pan frying with some butter or oil to get more of the moisture out. Oh wait, initial filming was over a month ago, you're not going to have leftovers now. I'm thankful this is just in time for me to have access to plenty of good leftover turkey sandwiches myself. Mind if I offer a little advise? 1: baking a meatloaf in a loaf pan means that you have to bake it longer plus there’s less room for sauce/glaze I recommend greasing the loaf pan with baking spray, packing it with the meatloaf mixture and then inverting it onto a cookie sheet That way you can have a shorter cook time and more sauce coverage while still having that athletically pleasing shape I also have this super tiny loaf pan, I’m thinking I’ll use that to make cute little mini loaves 2: whatever crumbs you use will absorb as much moisture as it can so it’s best to mix your liquids, seasonings and crumbs together beforehand and let them soak for a good long while before you add the meat This ensures that the crumbs will steal moisture from milk and eggs or whatever else you’re using but the meat itself will be unaffected thus ensuring a juicier loaf later on down the line

I also have this super tiny loaf pan, I’m thinking I’ll use that to make cute little mini loaves
2: whatever crumbs you use will absorb as much moisture as it can so it’s best to mix your liquids, seasonings and crumbs together beforehand and let them soak for a good long while before you add the meat
This ensures that the crumbs will steal moisture from milk and eggs or whatever else you’re using but the meat itself will be unaffected thus ensuring a juicier loaf later on down the line
