    I can't remember how many videos I watched on small engine repairs in which they did not perform this simple and very smart task to eliminate gas leaks. What makes this professional mechanic so good?Is he shows you exactly why and explains it. Thanks for a great tip and keep up the great work!👍👍👍

    Great tip! Just like you, I always add more than necessary when installing new line so there’s extra to snip off the next time.

    That is always a great tip. Even with smaller 2 cycle equipment.

      I see so many small engines come in leaking after customers do their own tune up or repair. Thanks for watching!

    Adding a fuel shut off, where's best, before filter, between filter and fuel pump, between pump and carb¿ 22hp riding mower, tank under seat. Thanks

      It will depend on the design but usually have plenty of room between the filter and fuel pump. I like to go here because then the fuel shut off will not be getting debris to have a potential blockage down the road. Thanks for watching!

    Never thought about that but it makes sense. I haven't had any leaks that I'm aware of yet but definitely going to start doing this. Just recently found your channel and have been enjoying the content

    Very informative video about how to swap the fuel line. Lots of outdoor power equipment repair videos on your channel,
    Are you up for a collaboration? Hipa supplies parts for small engines
    and maybe we would work together to help more people in the community.

      I appreciate that but we prefer to stay independent of any brand associations. I will say we have used your carburetors and most of them are a better quality than aftermarket competitors and seem to have better quality control.

    Why bother putting a filter on at all? If that's the style filter your going to use ! The only thing those filters keep out is large debris. Their pretty much useless !!

      They keep out stuff pretty well, but I guess it depends on what your getting in the tank. No matter what filter you use this will still be an issue at some point if not cut back. Thanks for watching!

      Those little red "strainers" are just that. Not a true filter. You should install a metal shut off valve, ahead of the filter.

      @@georgepruitt637 A fuel shutoff definitely works well to protect the carburetor. The design on this actually makes the fuel tank itself into its own sediment bowl. There is still about 1/2" of fuel in the tank when no more flows out of the fuel line. Not a good design but does trap debris at the bottom easily

      Haha I see that all the time! It is usually accompanied by green Tygon similar fuel lines on these that get brittle and leak over time. Thanks for watching!

    Use tubing cutters not side cutters. You saw the mess he made cutting the tubing

    • @IndRepair
      @IndRepair  2 месяца назад

      Side cutters work fine normally but these are cheapos and the fuel line was shot. Should have been using the Knipex, they would have cut through it fine. Thanks for watching!
