Alexander Bard is a Swedish cyberphilosopher, songwriter, record producer, TV personality and religious and political activist. He is co-author of The Futurica Trilogy and Syntheism: Creating God in the Internet Age. Alexander Bard has given lectures on the philosophical, sociological and economic implications of the internet revolution since the late 1990s. Throughout his career, he has been a fundamental force in creating the Swedish music export sensation - making Sweden the world’s biggest per capita music exporter - and promoting a deeper understanding of the full dramatic effects of the information technology revolution. He specializes in helping people around the world optimize their lifestyle, mindset, productivity, and brain performance.
On the stage with Alexander is Aron Flam, who is a Swedish comedian. He runs the Dekonstruktiv Kritik (Deconstructive criticism) podcast. The conversation was filmed during Biohacker Summit Stockholm in May 2017.

When people talk about immortality, no one ever speaks about not being able to end your life, but rather not die of old age. Invulnerability is what Bard seems to think immortality is about.

Bard is wrong about a bunch of things, but he is also uniquely right in bringing forth some tremendous insights nobody else seems to speak of, regarding some of the trends of the trajectory of human development in our past & where our trajectory seems to go in our future.
He indeed seems like a shaman; wacky & often wrong, but what he is right about matters.
      This was a great talk.

Yes, what is truly intolerable is eternity. And funnily enough, those people who don't really live their life will be the ones who will want to live forever, but they will most likely be living dead, for centuries.

So just a quick sidenote. Bard is wrong about Descartes. He did not want to get rid of God. In fact Descartes used God to prove the external world! And he did this after the ”cogito ergo sum”. Ok nothing more... Bard is very quick misrepresenting philosophers.

Should mention somewhere that this is from 2017. It's pretty relevant when he is talking about Trump, the US etc.

"The more we learn about what we are, the more options we will discern about what to try to become. Americans have long honored the “self-made man,” but now that we are actually learning enough to be able to remake ourselves into something new, many flinch. Many would apparently rather bumble around with their eyes closed, trusting in tradition, than look around to see what’s about to happen. Yes, it is unnerving; yes, it can be scary. After all, there are entirely new mistakes we are now empowered to make for the first time. But it’s the beginning of a great new adventure for our knowing species. And it’s much more exciting, as well as safer, if we open our eyes."
    - Daniel C. Dennett

Epic. Bard always kills it on a stage. His philosophy i always well grounded in facts know to us all. But he tells us how do handle this facts and use it better. I am currently trying to get mr. Bard together with a similar character i admire for the exact same reasons, Richard Heart. Both highly intellectual and high energy honest speakers. The Internet will implode when these stars meet and start to circle around topics like these.

    1) Newton has Holy Spirit in his physic theory, he was not individualist at all. 2) After Descartes was Hegel. Hegel thought - "Who is YOU? There is no YOU, there is Universe Spirit", read "Phenomenology of Spirit".

@@91aben Well, the No. 1 on the list of 100 things he is wrong about is his quote just right from the beginning of this talk: "Jordan Peterson is great he is the messiah". No, Jordan Peterson is just using his own version of Christianity and conservativism to brainwash millions of mostly young white men. He is neither "great" nor "messiah". There you have it. There are at least 99 other BS points he makes.

The male dominated under class is split between the incel type and the simp type. There are lots of dudes with little to no purpose who instead seek female recognition, and ofc these two types detest each other more than anything. And the incel types define themselves by female recognition as well, but the negation of it.
