It’ll look more modern & you won’t have that bump on the screen looking from the front being outside? And question number #2: Since you had the upgrade BM with the Idrive stick did you even had to replaced it or did it work with the screen you bought? Because if not mistaken I think it comes with and Idrive stick to control the screen doesn’t it?
Too much work and cost to change to single hump dash. We like it how it is currently. For #2 the stock iDrive controller works plug and play with the screen.
Oh yeah & btw where did you bought the Magnetic phone holder? I’ve been looking for one of those? And that’s a stick steering with with upgraded shift paddles 👌🏼🔥😎

Hey @Sal’s Garage, were you able to install a back-up camera with this unit? I am having an issue getting the unit to switch the video input to the backup camera. Are you able to turn off the screen when you don’t need it? Like if you’re not using nav, can you have the screen turn completely off or is it always on? How’s the backlight at night compared to the original idrive screen?
Brightness is adjustable, at night it’s not distracting at all. There is also a button on the screen to turn it off. To wake it up, just tap the screen.

Yes it works with Harmon Kardon, not sure about the screen resolution. I haven’t tried changing it since it looks fine to me, it the screen is large so the DPI will be lower.

I installed one of these in my 2010 328i and my auxiliary input in my car stopped working. The car shows it as activated but I don’t get any sound. And I can’t turn up the volume on the auxiliary input in the settings from the original bmw menu. Anyone have any ideas?

I definitely swapped over the fiber optic on the harness and also used the the aux provided in the package. Still no sound. I thought it was my car but I hooked my old I drive back up and sound was clear IDK what I’m doing wrong but I literally followed the instructions step by step

If you’re manual you’ll need to tap reverse bulb wire, for DCT it’s a little easier.

@@AsAngelsFall221 for the fiber optic sound you’ll need Mr 12 volt screen upgrade. These units use aux input. Sound quality is still good to my ears.

Yea I plugged in the aux port to the armrest and changed the sound to aux in iDrive.

Sound quality is pretty good, it goes through aux port so better than Bluetooth audio.

No latency in sound, you can install any android app to watch shows and movies. You still need the original radio for this to work.

It does not matter which side. If you have no I drive you need to get the non iDrive screen.

You probably forgot the green fiber optic cable swap on the harness.
I definitely swapped over the fiber optic on the harness and also used the the aux provided in the package. Still no sound. I thought it was my car but I hooked my old I drive back up and sound was clear IDK what I’m doing wrong but I literally followed the instructions step by step
