If you are going to continue cutting on a tile saw try standing on the back side of the saw and pull the rock towards yourself. Also, never cut a geode on a saw. If a crystal should break loose inside and drop down it could jam on the blade and warp or bend it. It has happened more than once to some poor soul.
Good point standing behind. First time using tile saw. I cut 3 geodes with no issues. I wanted a clean cut not jagged. I will not be cutting any more. It was a souvenir from vacation.
Cassidy, are you serious right now? 1. I HAVE SAFETY GLASSES ON THE ENTIRE TIME I was cutting!!!! 2. No I’m not wearing a mask because I won’t be able to talk to the camera if I do and there was NO DUST probably because and I’m just guessing here there is a blade spinning in water- kinda cancels out dust. 3. You DO NOT ever wear gloves near saw blades, your glove can get caught and then pull your finger into the blade!!!
Stand behind the saw and pull the rock towards you, you'll stay drier. Even though you're using a wet saw there is still silicate dust. It's so fine it's almost like smoke. A mask shouldn't hurt your ability to talk. There are no teeth on the blade so your fingers are fine but it's still scary when you touch the blade
@@patriotwoodworker6092 Cassidy Jonson is an imbecile! You are correct on all three counts. I am and lapidary of 23 years and have extended experience at cutting and polishing stone of all types. Cassidy is what we in Texas call a "Goober."

Water is so cold!
Cool!
If you turn your blade around and pull it the water will not get on you. Looks good man!
Hey great tip! I didn’t even think of that.
Is that the 7" Ryobi tile saw?
Yes sir it’s a 7 inch blade. Not bad for 120.00

Hahahaha. Wow. You don’t use power tools, your own eyes, or tile saws.
