This episode is some of the rawest shit in the entire series. The large part of it with no music, no jutsu, nothing but two exhausted shinobi determined to keep their fists flying at each other. What a masterpiece of a fight.
Also in the game version of the fight, Naruto concentrated chakra into his fist before the uppercut into the rocks, so I believe that's what happened canonically and they just didn't show it in the anime.
Just raw, brutal hand to hand combat.
Interesting how the original fight at the Valley of the End started off small scale and ended it up big with the increasing power ups, but this fight starts small scale, ascends, peaks in scale and then descends again.
Love how the show got out of the way of big ass powerups & blasts to this more grounded & real fight.
It's difficult to believe that becuz both if them had hardly any Chakra.... spl naruto, who was only using half of a kurama, in contrast to Sasuke who siphoned off power from 8 beasts....

Also the Hashirama and Madara statues being destroyed, could be interpreted as Naruto and Sasuke destroying the seemingly unending fate their predecessors had to face.

I honestly feel like kishimoto destroyed the statues during this battle as a way of saying that this whole Indra x Ashura feud would come to an end.
Fun fact: Naruto's Ashura rasen shurikens and Indra's arrow are the most powerful arsenal in their six paths form

Well it’s actually ashuras duality gaint resenshuriken is what I call it one meant sun aka ashura the other was moon aka Indra a lot of people miss that detail which is cool
You couldn’t see but at 15:35 Itachi’s hand was behind Sasuke’s hand but because of Chidori being so bright you couldn’t see his hand
It was ment to be hard to see.
It doesn't make sense to me. If anything, Itachi's hand should have appeared for the Rasengan since Itachi would have been for Naruto to win this fight.

The hurricane was called as shippuden in Japanese... They justified for keeping the name "Naruto Shippuden"

Itachi's hand isn't just with Sasuke, it's also with Naruto. Itachi said to Naruto what the true Hokage means. He said to Sasuke that he will be on his side no matter what happened and what path he takes because he will always be his big brother :(

at 15:35 where you can see glimpses of Itachi's hand, is made slightly invisible. that shows how Itachi was always with sasuke but invisible to everyone. just another detail, which makes this fight more than regular anime fight
I always thought itachi's hand is kinda trying to stop sasuke from making more mistakes rather than helping it form the chidori. But from reading all the comments maybe it is supposed to be him always loving him no matter what.

That could be said about many episodes of Naruto. Thats why it is and always will be my favorite anime of all time. Its so freaking good in so many ways. Imo, this is the best shonen out there. I mean yes, it has some problems here and there, but every show has them. Naruto is just amazing anyways.

6:50 It seems like you didn't reconize 'need to be strong' from the og Naruto, which was a very nice suprise from the anime creators, cause we didn't hear it since the og (not counting the fillers). So it was like 500 episodes and almost 10 years without it. One of the best piece of ost from naruto in general. Sounds so badass.
This fight is so good. The animation, choreography, ost, dialogue, references, jutsu, hand to hand combat…

12:54 basically Kurama had infused chakra, as you know chakra = energy / strength etc so therefore he had the energy to pull off a punch like that. Sasuke did however steal some of it to power his final chidori.
It's impossible not to get endless chills both from how iconic this fight is but also in how emotional it is too. Just the years of anticipation, an unstoppable force against an immovable ideal and the pure exhaustion of neither backing down. It's so legendary 🔥

I love that final Rasengan. It really drives home that having bonds is what makes him as strong as Sasuke. He can't measure up in talent, or battle intelligence, or a lot of other things, but he has something real to fight for, and Sasuke doesn't. Hatred will never give you as much strength as love can, as corny as that sounds. But anime is all about being corny.
How I wish kishimoto used the vermillion rasengan to bring the classic clash when their kids

no matter what Sasuke’s choices are, Itachi always loved and supported his younger brother. To have Itachi be the only one helping Sasuke with that final Chidori just shows that Itachi will always support Sasuke.

So Indra's Arrow being a bolt of lightning in the form of an arrow is very apt.
Ngl, after hearing Sasuke say that insult about his shadow clones made me think that his powerful sharingan(s) and rinnegan hides how blind he truly is.

Naruto getting his strength until now can't be separated from the help of his friends who always support him from behind, unlike Sasuke who is always alone, so Naruto wants Sasuke to live with his friends, not alone anymore
It's obvious that Jiraya, Minato and Kushina has to be the first ones to make the Rasengan, but the final hands, for me, has the most powerful meaning: Sai and Yamato as the new family members after the scission; Obito entrusted his will onto Naruto; Kakashi as the teacher always believed him; and finally Sakura, the most important hands here, because the promise between them to bring Sasuke back it's about to be fulfilled! 👐🏻🔘

if you watch again, sasuke actually had itachis hand for a split second, pretty cool.
i would like to point out that all throughout this fight Naruto is solely on the defensive and is not trying to kill sasuke. intent is the most important thing in a fight. sasuke needed to not only have killing intent but had to absorb the power of the biju to even fight on par with Naruto

It wasn't months, it was maybe a week at most, there's no conceivable way Madara survives that long without time to eat or sleep. Hashirama has enhanced cells that allow regeneration, so that's at least plausible. The only detail we were ever given was that it was longer than a day.
Kaguya vs her Sons lasted months though

Regarding your question on how Naruto can throws Sasuke above the ground when both of them already exhausted. Your can see Sasuke easily destroys rock surface there. It means both of them, which more of less have same physical level, are having extremely strong body. When Naruto throws Sasuke up there, Sasuke isn't at the position ready to receive that attack then get throwed up. But, it is different when they are hitting each other, both of them are on stance ready to receive hits.
Really loved how they both lost their superior powers , then went for basic punch and kicking . Like it ain't just some normal rivalry shi . It's more . Much more . It's about sacrifice , peace , hatred , war and ... . They're fighting against fate for a better world 🔥
If you look closely, after all the hands shown from narutos rasengan, you can see itachi's hand under sasukes chidori, talk about details 💔🔥
