I don't understand why you would leave a gun inside your car? Am I missing something? I just don't think it makes sense to leave a loaded or unloaded gun in your car. I think that's just not responsible, especially with all the violence we are all experiencing.
UNACCEPTABLE! And that's just here. Now do the math for across the country, and these are just the "trained" people not securing their firearms. This is a MAJOR problem in this country, imo.
Remind " people" how about you remind the police and the state employees that got the guns lost and stolen. If my gun gets stolen and i dont report it fast enough i ho to jail, but a coo can loose a a gun and not face any charges. May why arent the cops keeping thwir guns safe.
@2:30 Edit: As a recruited C.T. Op any time I cannot my gun I freak a little and would report if I definitely couldn't find it in 2 days. Arrest and investigate all parties associated with in the last 10yrs.
anyone who would know i need to ask what is the possibility in Texas that a citizen who own a firearm that unfortunately used it for self harm and it was confiscated by police to retrieve it back if they have no warrants committed no crimes or any wrongdoing? Would they keep it based on just the fact he committed self harm with the firearm and also if he tries to purchase another one will he be in the system during the background check to be denied ability to purchase a firearm? I ask because my other half wants to go back to work during armed security and of course without being armed she can't do that until she gets her firearm back.
They’re not being “Stolen”.. They’re being taken home by the cops themselves. What makes you think someone can just walk into an evidence room and take one?
The reporter doesn't know guns. 357 SIG is a caliber not a model of SIG SAUER guns. Also the paper work says 9mm so 357 SIG shouldn't even been mentioned. Also, I spent 3 days training with DPS at their facility. Those guys carry SIG P320s and P365s as backups. I know this cause with all the issues of self-firing P320s I made a few jokes to those Troopers and it became a conversation
Funny how the police lose the guns but make ads blaming the public FOR NOT LOCKING THEIRS. Typical.
They did not lose the guns, there at a cops house and he thinks it is his gun now.
Meanwhile they infringe upon our Second Amendment, claiming we are not fit to be armed.
Sounds like an insider job
Stolen from police, by police.
💯
Probably filing issue 😂 they usually sell stuff at auction 😂 but the government probably forget they sold it
Looks like defunding the police might help prevent crime
I’m from the government and I’m here to help.
Never lost a gun. Except for that one boat that sank.
NYPD lost an MP5 off their boat but it never sank......lol
Patrol car left at home while on vacation for a week ??? Fr?
Sounds like a setup
Ya they think it makes there house safe it used to but they've really messed up this country from a state level
The Central Texas Mexican Drug Cartel know exactly where all these weapons are located.
So the police sold them
There is no central Texas Mexican drug cartel 😂 Texas doesn’t make cartels it makes thugs gangs drug addicts and corrupt police
So, the DPS can talk the talk but cannot walk the walk 👎
Is anyone actually surprised?
In Mathis TX,the former chief of police was charged and arrested for taking drugs from the evidence room to use and sell himself.
For the ones stolen, please tell me what gun law would stop that
Imagine how well these “police” are doing their taxes.
Check the garages of state law enforcement officers

Unfathomable! Unconscionable incompetence!
Sounds like its ok to be a careless cop. No charges for them
How does that even Happen? Unless the officer's themselves are stealing them for thier personal security and benefit.
How?
Inside corruption is a huge factor. What a mess....
I would bet that the missing guns are expensive ones like Colt Pythons, etc.

Definitely ambulance chasing lawyer
LOOKS LIKE KEEPING THESE CRIMES IN JAIL WORKS !

With their avergage response being running and hiding, they were not using them anyway😢

a new “Fast and Furious” operation going on ?

Look in the cops homes , you’ll find the guns in their personal collection.
Hiprocrits
The only shocking thing in this story is how bad crime really is when cops guns are stolen.
I think they sold it 😂😂😂😂 at auction
Is a known when cops seize your gun it goes home with them sooner or later and becomes their gun.

INSIDE JOB 🤷🏽♂️
Department of Public Safety is the Texas Rangers isn’t it?
the Rangers are a small group within DPS. DPS consist of TX HGWY PATROL, CAPITOL POLICE, SPECIAL OPERATIONS, INVESTIGATIONS, and also TEXAS RANGERS
Who did Abbott sell them to cartel or was the illegal immigrants mstealing this equipment getting even with abbott....
Dept of Public Safety…wow
Professionally trained😅😅😅😅😅
The cops sold them back to the streets
In the grand scheme, this is not a large number. Most of this is likely a paperwork issue.
Those guns are the same guns that *appear* in black low income neighborhoods. Guess who *placed* those guns there?
Missing or stolen lol funny how they try to down play it. If rhey are not where they are supposed to be its stolen.
Gun Reform Activist = Someone who makes living by trying to ban guns!
If this had been a citizen they probably would have been held liable . Also did the officers have to pay to replace the guns ?
I think Joe Biden's Department of Justice heads need to start answering questions
Hahahaha law stealing guns oh my
BYEdens border busters has to have weapons also LOL
This is what happens when you blindly back the blue. Wait to you see what they have in store for you next 😊
The amount of unprofessionalism and negligence displayed by so-called professionals is extremely disappointing 👎
I’ll take a tractor
All the government employee sent them to Ukraine. Sold
