It's so special! This is up there with one of our favorite bathrooms (& homes) we've had the privilege to design. Thank you for the kind words & compliment!
She has a gorgeous mid-century home and either impeccable taste or a really good architectural team. Most people watching this will never have the means to buy a house and grounds like this one, let alone do the renovation. But we should be thankful when people with money appreciate aesthetics and create something beautiful. Money so often equals ugly mcmansions, so kudos to them!
We have more photos & info for this project (we are so proud of) in our portfolio. The before-and-afters are really fun to see the transformation. Feel free to look our way if you have time!
@@MODabyDesign Thanks for the info. TBH I probably won't make the time to click thru your portfolio, but would have loved to see some of the details in the video. Nowness In Residence series, Apartment Therapy and The Local Project to name a few, do a good job at editing films with interiors + voice overs. Maybe a tip for your film editor on your next project?
@@caramimi Totally agree. We are not involved with Schoolhouse & their filming/interview process (we are "just" the designers of the project 😉). Great feedback for @schoolhouseliving in future films for sure though. (PS Big fans of Local Project!)
That bathroom tile is lovely. They look like they are from… oh what’s the name of the company? They are based in California and also sell several lines of dishes and ceramic decor like vases and other decor…. Edit: i just noticed that this is Schoolhouse’s RUclips channel. I love them too!
Hi! You are correct - Heath Ceramics was used in the bathroom. We love spec'ing their products any chance we get! Check us out for more info on this project.
@ Yes Heath. I blanked. Lol. They make absolutely beautiful tile (shapes and colors). It is truly wonderful to see a bathroom that does not look as if a marble quarry threw up!🤮
Yes! Todd Celmar. The homeowners coordinated the carved door, which we thought was a great addition to this project. Leroy "Setziol" is the well-known midcentury wood carver that was mentioned (I believe Todd is related via nephew).
Unfortunate and frustrating to just see an interview about the home instead of more shots of the actual home. And the few shots of features and areas she was mentioning were shown with completely the wrong perspective or focus.
Please focus more time on the design elements instead of the person talking. The last two minutes focused on her instead of the house. We did not see any of the things mentioned.
If you'd like to learn more about this lovely project, please check us out! The transformation was quite impactful - we have before images up to really see the improvements made.
You are correct! That is not maple. The homeowner misspoke. We (the design team) integrated a lot of walnut throughout this project (as well as cedar & white oak). 😊
What a beautiful, calming home. I love the sauna and skylights over the tub.

We agree! Thank you for the great compliment. We were grateful & privileged to be called upon to design a home of this caliber. 😊
It would have been nice to see the actual parts of the home the owner is describing instead of watching them sit there and talk about it.
Yeah, this was an interesting edit.

I’ll never understand why channels like this focus on the rich owners rather than the design professionals, architects or builders of the homes.

@@thefingerofgod69 It is not in our nature to design that way & we appreciate that compliment! Ha! 😊

How nice for her! Isn’t she special!
Anyone know the carpenter she’s talking about for the front door?

@ thank you!! It is so beautiful
A lot of words with not much conveyed. A tub that could fit 50 people??

Can't tell if I'm watching Portlandia or not...
Dose not look like maple to me
