Nick - what a time, what a result during heavy training! I know the video is about the watches but your time is equally impressive! I've just entered the world of coros recently and can safely say I have been impressed... its good to see your testing results match up to this!
Thanks Andy! I was very pleased and a bit surprised. Raising mileage this year seems to have made a big difference. Congrats on your race! Nice when fitness carries through from a marathon block
Another shout out for the Rocket X2 which seems to have become almost a forgotten shoe. I love it but agree the grip is not the best in the wet! That medal is a bit disappointing though!
Hi Nick, how would you compare the alphafly next 2 to the Cielo x1, would you say there was a reason to go out and buy the Cielo when you've already got the alpha?
During his test of 5 watches, Shervin Shares noticed that the GPS data was offset left or right depending on which arm he was wearing it on. I think that might be what happened when you had each watch on one side of the road.
Your Fr265 battery drain seems pretty high relative to what I'm used to. Given the time away and activities I'd expect it to be in line with those Core numbers
A bit disappointed with the 265 performance. I am thinking about updating my FR245 because I really need the "multisport" option along with the dual-band GPS and the FR265 was my 1st option since I already have a Garmin chest strap :|
Remember this was just one race and it was still pretty good tracking! We'll have a more comprehensive comparison of mid-range watches to come, but my experience with the 265 is that it offers excellent GPS tracking in general, and HR in line with most watches. It's a great watch
@@yianpap6093 that's completely true, maybe he had some fatigue into legs because of marathon training, even if probably marathon training itself is shortening the stride at least as per my personal experience
I can't comment specifically on the Coros Pace Pro. However, I owned the Pace 2. It had so many issues. The battery made it just past the 2 year warranty. Magically after an upgrade, it dropped to 2 days before needing a recharge. Customer support told me that it had nothing to do with the upgrade - "batteries just wear out". Oddly enough, the next upgrade bumped my battery life up to 5-6 days. The accuracy was terrible. I added the POD2 and it did help for outdoor use but made indoor runs much less accurate. The worst part was Coros customer support. It was terrible. Their solution for my treadmill accuracy was to calibrate it with 1-3 mile run before each treadmill workout. I absolutely love my Garmin FR 265. I am never going back, even if they make it look shiny like a Garmin.

Nice socks and great result!
Thanks, those are the event socks, excellent colour scheme!
Bravo l’ami 🎉
Forget the gear, that's a great time. So fast!
Thanks!

Just purchased a Pace pro 😁 upgrade from a Forerunner 955.....didn't like the pace 3 but I'm going to give the Pace Pro a go

I probably wouldn’t go out and get the Cielo if the Alpha is in good condition. Similarly big, bouncy and fun shoes!

coros pace pro have no music?

I’ve had 4-5 days pretty much as standard with the 265. Always-on and multiband. Still good for a small AMOLED watch with fairly heavy use
@TheRunTesters ah, fair enough on those two factors. I have the opposite set-up
What is that strap for the 265??

Why not just use the Coros arm band for heart rate? It’s only $79
You've got a short stride, don't you? Short what do you mean in cm?
In this race Garmin says 155cm, Coros says 154cm, so around that!
Stride really depends on your speed. I guess he means he has a short stride for his pace (which applies to very few people!)

What was the other shoe you were talking about when discussing the Hoka rocket?
I think the Cielo X1
@matthanna1980 that a brand called Cielo or a model of Hoka?
🤔
@@weedfreer it's a model of Hoka 👍
Nick why are your hand soo shaky😂 or it was cold outside??
Cold!
