yea, i used to do that all the time but i stopped because i always had the feeling i missed the musicality of the solo and was just hearing/practising loose notes. I'll try it again and see if it works out.
@@monneverschaeve I say listening on repeat helps with getting the right style. As long as you are playing the solo back in real-time and learning the vocabulary Use whatever style you want.

I like listening to a larger portion of phrase and transcribing the whole bit. Slowing it down can be useful but it takes way too much time

@@monneverschaeve I guess it also depends on skill level. After doing at least a hundred transcriptions it has become easy
